depends on the angle you crash into each other... if you're blitzing and hit another blitzer in the flank, only he will go down. but a frontal crash is one of the funniest things that can happen in the game.
Saw an Assault rushing me with Blitz, countered by activating my own. Team shoots the Blitzer after we both flop over. Worth it!
Edit - another thing I discovered. You can time your melee and hit the Blitzer through the shield. The Blitz does not stop melee attacks. I had the pleasant surprise of killing the Blitzer who charged me with my elbow. It was kind of weird but otherwise a good backup if you're in a bad position such as behind a corner.

Tried this, got knocked down JUST before my blitz was fully active. I had the shield up and everything... oh well, one of these days I'll get it :P
When blitz is used, does it just knock the enemy down? Couple times I've used it they are dead. What happened?
It knocks them down, does no damage. You must shoot them afterwards. Teammates can shoot them for you.
I used to do this all the time on other blitzers, usually both do get knocked down however sometimes not due to lag.
