    Recon ONLY teams

In the game, as you know, there are lots of recons playing, which I have nothing against. But a serious issue is that a HUGE amount is put on a single team, which always results in a certain loss. I have had this problem every 3 or 4 matches. What the game needs is either the ability to change classes or class limits for each team. Other than that the game is, in my opinion, perfect.

Play the game, make some friends, create a fire-team, problem solved. As long as you and your fire-team run various classes and work together you should be fine.

That is one way to solve it but when the game becomes open beta/releases this will be a problem at a massive scale and will cause people to stop playing GRO, besides, not that many people make fire-teams anyway (+ friends are not online 24/7)

That's why you make as many friends as you can while your playing now in Closed Beta. A majority of the players that are playing now will almost certainly be playing in Open beta. I currently have 30+ players on my friends list.

There are a ton of people that run in fire-teams. Sit in chat and ask for an invite to one.

If you do continue to run solo you will most certainly continue to get hit with the same recon heavy teams. It's the flavor of the week, everyone wants to play sniper or use the cloak ability. It's kind of sad actually because the other classes are far more potent on the battlefield.

It has been mentioned before but swiching class's mid game would lead to some very frustrating play. Most notably everyone blowing their speical abilities right from the get go, so everyone popping Heat, Aegis, cloak, so on and such as and piling on to the point(s).

What might be more intuitative set up is the ability to pick your class before you spawn into the map, you can check the scoreboard see what everyone else is and then pick the class you plan on using for the match inside the match, possibly during the warm-up time. Rather than picking your class outside of the match before it starts.

Personaly I like the fact that I am stuck with the class I have for the whole match, because it also means that everyone else is stuck with their classes. I know what their strengths are and what their limitations and adjust my tactics depending on how many recon, assault or speicalist's one is fighting.

I realize that this is a team game, and people want to play the game their way. For instance I am best with snipers, i'm not ungodly like some of you out there but provided i'm not flanked I can keep a side pinned down pretty decently. But there are games when I feel obligated to grab a SMG an fight on the frontline's because there is already a few snipers in game. And as everyone knows Assault Rifle > SMG, espeicaly in a frontline fight.

But I also realize that everyone else, wants everyone else to change most of the time. =)

Just play what you feel comfortable with and what you enjoy. Sure you'll end up getting rick-rolled occasionaly, or in my case a lot. But, you can only do what you can do.

Some of my most memorable matches are those matches where i'm getting rickrolled and pull a desperato with my sniper and end up flanking the entire enemy team with only my pistol.

    Silly. No doubt.
    Did we still lose? Yup.
    Fun? Oh yeah.

As I said in-game the other day, having a team of ALL snipers can be a good thing, granted, the snipers have to be good though. If you get a team full of snipers that are good, they will rip the other team to shreds. Sure it would be a campfest, but as someone who complains about this (The reader) it would be your job to capture stuff as the snipers shoot anything and everything that's red and moves.

    Bottom line, you die.

Once the player pool becomes larger, I think you will see less and less recon heavy games. I personally hate playing my recon because their are so many other people using the class and I'm just a bad shot, (maybe now that I have the SR-25 I'll hate it a little less lol) but I must reach level 30 with all my classes! Just wait for OB I have a feeling everything will be ironed out in MM by then. I think the main problem atm is the player base is just not larger enough.

I really enjoy when the game matches a team of recon to a team of mostly assault/specialists. It isn't smart enough to take the classes available and split them effectively.

As long as there's no Server Browser and Match-Making is the only choice there will always be class, weapon, _fill_in_the_blank_ game balance issues... No Match-Making System regardless of how many variables it takes into consideration in putting you into a game will EVER serve Players as well as a Server Browser. This is because a Match-Making System can not take into account the variables that are important to you when there important to you; a simple illustration: you want to find a low ping game, on your favorite map, with a limited number of Recons, and failing that you would rather not play...

This is obviously easy to accomplish quickly with a Server Browser, and/or realize that there's nothing like what you're looking for and give up on playing the game. Attempting the above scenario with any MMS; you'll never even know if there are any games running that satisfy your criterion, the MMS will force you to join games regardless because it's only able to take into consideration a few of many criterion that interests you, and you'll have to join and quit multiple games before giving up in frustration -- which is an outcome neither a good outcome for you, the games you join and quit, the game or Ubisoft's image. Consider a few criterion an MMS, even a well populated one will not allow you to make your own preferential selection based on:

    · ping
    · class balance
    · weapon exclusion (eg. 'no shotguns' or 'pistols only' games)
    · Player level balance
    · map in play
    · time remaining
    · rounds remaining
    · team balance
    · number of players
    · location of server
    · game mode

Moreover, with a Sever Browser you have everyone making informed preferential game selections which also has the over-all out come of more, and more balanced games. Match-Making Systems will never match Players as well, for as many or as many fun games as People can manage for themselves with a Server Browser -- this isn't an opinion, it's a fact, one proven in both exhaustive testing, and in empirical play where we've seen over a dozen (including some of the most successful in terms of revenue and popular in terms of play-sare P4F/P4C MMOFPS games roll with an MMS, only to later roll a Server Browser and see their play-share almost immediately more then double. The most recent example would be Battlefield Play4Free which on rolling its Server Browser saw it's play-share increase four-fold inside a week, even with concurrent radical changes to game balance that were very unpopular.
