To fix this, i suggest you to:

first, if you have custom self made maps, make a backup of all your maps located in (Disk:\Users\"user"\Documents\Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood\data\mapsextra)

also (Disk:\Users\"user"\Documents\Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood\data\mapsnet)

and of your player's profile, located in

    Disk:\Users\"user"\Documents\Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood\Out\profiles.

Then uninstall both game and chrome editor from your computer.
Also if you have the dedicated server installed.

When you uninstall your game or the editor, make sure that you choose to delete all game data and information.

So once all your files related to call of juarez bib are uninstalled, reinstall your game then the latest patch. ( version 1.1.0.0)
Then install the editor and put your map backup in

    Disk:\Users\"user"\Documents\Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood\data\mapsextra

Now all game and editor data is clean.

So if you don't have custom maps just uninstall all call of juarez bound in blood stuff from your computer as explained above then restart your pc...

    Ok.

I don't have the steam version of this game, i have the DVD release.

It seems like a language issue, i mean, the symbols may wrong because the game does'nt recognise the good language.

Try to change the steam language in steam properties then restart steam, maybe this will fix your problem?
(try with different languages and restart steam each time you'll change settings).

Also try to clean the clientRegistry.blob (ensure that you remember your steam password and username before to clean the blob file)

This game is very good event if there's some bugs...

If nothing works, delete the out folder in this directory:

    Disk:\Users\UserName\Documents\Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood\Out

But you'll loose your profile with your skills and you'll have to enter the game key again.
(you can use the same e-mail adress to make your new profile).
