    NAT strict upload bad

Anyone else having this issue? My pc is on a DMZ and it still shows up at nat strict upload bad. I have a 25MB down 2MB up connection. Not much thats too bad about that.

Ubi please release a patch already. From what I've read online you guys are long over due for this.

NAT type isn't about your connection speed.

NAT type is about you being behind a secure firewall that's interfering with you connecting to other players.

There are 3 types of NAT settings

    Type 1 - Open NAT
    Type 2 - Moderate NAT
    Type 3 - Strict NAT

Open NAT means you can connect to anyone, but can only be enabled if you have a direct-to-modem connection with no other devices running through the same line, and no firewalls in the way.

Moderate NAT lets you connect to other players with Moderate, and anyone with Open NAT, but you can't connect to players on a Strict NAT. The right settings in your router if you're using one, or with a firewall if you're not, should be able to give you this without any real worries, and it's suitable for almost anything you want to do in gaming.

Strict NAT, quite simply, means you're doing it wrong when it comes to gaming. You'll ONLY be able to connect to players on Open NAT, not other Strict or even Moderate NAT users. When the majority of people online are running through routers (particularly on console, where they usually have a PC connected as well), that cuts away a HUGE portion of the playerbase from connecting to you.

Just because you're on DMZ in your router, doesn't mean there's no firewall active, in the router, the modem or the PC.

If you refresh the page and it's still saying Strict NAT, then it's probably not the game's fault. In most cases, the glitch only prevents it from auto-detecting, not from updating when you tell it to, so if it's still a problem, take a closer look at your settings.

I'm a network engineer. Been one for the past 10 years. I know how to work a firewall. I turned my firewall off on my computer, and opened it up completely to the whole world and it still says what I said in the op. Ubi should really program their networking better.

Sorry. I'm more used to seeing posts like this from people who reply with something more like "what's a modem?" than actually sounding like they know what they're doing.

Have you tried the other suggestion of refreshing your network status page? A lot of people have found that to be helpful.

Also, there are a lot of issues in the game, but this is rarely one that's hard to work around. If it's still broken after a refresh, I'd advise contacting Support. And doing so with a LOT of patience (I wrote a guide on how to deal with them a while ago. It should still be floating around somewhere). Also go to Support if it fixes it but doesn't stay fixed for the next time you sign in, because while easy to work around, it's obviously not working right.

Yea spoke to some girl who didn't really seem to know what she is talking about. Now the game says it cannot conect to Ubisoft and that they are down and I'm in offline mode now. Can't find any messages online about them actually being down right now... hmm...wtf..

Ok I am at wits end. I'm using PFSense and it would help if I could find which ports are incoming and which are outgoing.

I've turned on manual static nat mapings (as the ports would be rewritten by the firewall upon exiting, which is probably one reason I cannot figure this out) but now I cannot find the page that specifies which ports are incoming or outgoing. I've tried this page... http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/app/answ...5912/related/1

I am being too lazy to log my firewall to see which the program is attempting to use and I'm sure the info is out there some where. I just cannot find it.

    I've found this: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/ques...layer-reliably

but I'm unsure as to how correct it is.

Any positive input would be appreciated.
