So, I changed from HD to regular in the PS3's Settings/Bluetooth menu and then I heard it working in game, but I did not see any 'trophy' awarded. What am I doing wrong/missing ? Help would surely be appreciated.
PS3 trophies are similar to XBOX achievements. All games have a set of criteria that when achieved, grants you a virtual trophy that then adds to your level on psn. I dunno, it's all kind of silly really.

all i did was play a song with the headset on, and got the "sing along" trophy or whatever afterwards. I think you're supposed to sing as well, but I didn't.

I have also seen "ok singing" messages, which is kind of funny, since it's the original singer that the mike is picking up.

Just the other night I plugged in an old rockband mic, and my girlfriend sang bring me to life by Evanescence, while I played, it was ****ing epic and she sounded great. Not sure what your problem is.

i did following to make the usb mic to work (default logitec usb mic)
at first the mic didnt register, but in the game, i just took the usb mic out of the xbox while the game already was started
and in again, and then the mic worked.
keyword: if the mic doenst register, just disconnect the usb mic song is started, and connect it again
and voila. (i also have xbox)

Initially mine didn't seem to work but I now have it working.

I thought maybe it didn't work in rehearse mode so I selected a song and went into performance mode. The mic worked so I went into rehearse mode and it then worked there too

Using a Logitech Rockband mic gave me sound from both speakers, using wired Singstar mics, the blue mic uses the left channel and the red mic uses the blue channel. The wireless mics work the same way
