I forgot to share this too... I was getting a few notes that were not being recognized by RS, mostly the D string. It was clearer in Free Speed RR. I swtiched from the bridge pickup to the neck pickup and it helped a lot.
Ok guys... I need your help! I feel like I am missing something here... I just scored a 100,962 (Expert NMM) with a 175 streak and 96% notes hit. WTF! Last week on single note I had a much lower % and NS and easily topped that score. Any advice? Thanks!
Also, on a separate note, I unlocked the 'Half-K' achievement on the same run that shows me getting a 175 NS. How is that possible?? Thanks!
Your timing is probably lacking groove. The bonus points that will take you over 100k in this arrangement are most groove, with a couple of bend bonus possibilities.
Work on really consistent note timing during the main riff, and hitting the strum pattern during the verses.
Not sure about the Half-K. Sometimes achievements show up late - you may have unlocked it on a previous run of that or another song. I don't think it shows those until you get back to continue journey. I don't get messages about authentic tone unlocks until the next time I start the game.
I have a hard time finding a good picking pattern for the first section of the main riff (before it shifts down.) I know I should be up-picking a lot of the notes on the g-string (at least it seems that way,) but when I try that I get all messed up. I have more luck down-picking everything, but I know that's not right, and it's hard to be fast enough
My pick-up toggle switch has 3 modes: Swank, Extra Swank, and Super Swank
In the first section, I alternate pick, starting with a downstroke, with the exception of up picking twice in a row on the G4 G6 part. I double down pick on the D6 D5. Basically, I suppose any G or B string stuff is picked with an upstroke, and the D string is picked with a down stroke. That carries over to the 2nd position as well.
Yeah, I can pick like that fine in the second section/position (less string skipping,) but I get all messed up trying to do it in the first section/position - just need practice I guess. Thanks for the tips!

I am doing economy picking (up when you're moving up the neck vertically, down when you're moving down the neck vertically) and then alt picking when notes are on the same string. I have been getting a lot of "groove" bonuses & the bend bonuses. I nail the main riff about 99.9% of the time (I can do that thing in my sleep at about 180 bpm now, LOL)... I get perfect phrase a lot, especially on the breakdown... so I'm guessing my mess up has to be coming from the verse & pre-chorus with those weirdly timed chord strums.
I think this one is bothering me much more than last week's song. I feel like I'm owning this song and the points just aren't there... whereas last week I did decent, but not great with the song and the points came with ease. LOL
Been playing guitar for about six days now. Actually I first tried to learn back in the 70's when I was a teenager, but that didn't turn out well and I gave up. I am using one of my son's guitars right now, and I am really enjoying this game! I want to try to try these challenges, even though I may not post a score I will be following along.
When doing the challenge am I supposed to use Rehearsal, or Perform mode? I have played through the song twice in rehearsal mode, and I have the score up to 11K so there is much work to be done!
