I am not 100% Sab but I think it will be an option that at default is set to Map Locked in the Editor Menu somewhere.
There should be an option to un-tick the box which would allow what we currently have in FC2 where others can edit the map and save the changes.
I hope though that should you pass the map over to someone to work on, that they can not then lock the map and say screw you - The original author should be able to re-open a map that they started if someone else locks it out IMO, I can't see many problems but at times there are those who seem to fall out while making a coop map.

As for Multi Users in the editor, I would certainly go with someone using the same view as a dedicated host where they can fly withing the playable area and could be in chat discussing the map as you build it - That would work.

Everything I work towards is a solo project, thus I don't care for this idea!

Did you hear that my request also is optional, so you don't have to coop map if you don't want to?

    Just my two cents...

Maybe it's from an artist's point of view, but I think the maps should stay to each creator.

The map is your vision, your playspace, your skills as an accomplished map designer.

When I've created maps, I don't mind saving the final cut of the map (before publish) to have friends in to share their opinions on how it looks, or how they feel it plays.

But, with co-op I feel it's as if you spent weeks painting a portrait...and then someone comes in with a brush full of paint, and tells you to change this, or that...and smears your whole original concept.

I feel that an option to turn this feature on or off to the liking of each individual is possible. Also, if you really feel that multiple mappers can work in unison, and not hit snags, or disagreements, go for it...but, personally I would always have the map kept to myself.

I'd seen a couple versions of my Farcry 2 maps claimed, and adjusted...which I don't think is right.

    But, that's just me...

its simple, have co-op editing, but start off as the other layers can only spectate< then on future updates, improve it until you can edit maps with mates, online, just have some cinda editing system, like on ''total miner''.
AND ALSO LET THE HOST CHOOSE IF THEYEVEN WANT ENYONE IN.
You can create it, creators of Far Cry 3, so why not?

Thank you, good sir. Someone using logic here. Everyone shoots it down because they like to create solo.. So what? You can lock everyone out while making your solo masterpieces. Or, you can have company and just let people spectate. OR, you can invite friends in and create epic maps at twice the speed with your buddies. It's an optional request and there's really no down-side to it as long as Ubi would include an Auto-Reject option.
