    This.

A blind invite is a sure way to get it denied. Repeated blind invites is a sure way to end up on my Ignore list, regardless of game.

I am all for teaming up with the veterans to see how they play. Using the devices and such I understand. It is the actuall combat style that I can use help with.

On a side note: Positve attitude will almost always get you further than anything else when it comes to learning or teaching.

Indeed. Especially when you're new to a game, if you come into the game with a negative or neutral attitude you'll probably learn less and rage more. I always approach new games with the attitude that it's completely new, even if it's similar to another game I've played. Almost all games have unique features and controls that need to be practiced and mastered in order to do well.

    Sniper aswel as SMG

Idea is to be Sniper until i get higher level.

    Hi there Ceremic!

The first thing that you should know about Recon is that it's not exactly a "sniper class". In the existing game types in Ghost Recon Online (GRO) the teams always have objectives that they need to attack and defend. In order to attack an objective you actually need to move up to it and place your body on the objective to start capturing. Although a "sniper" can be an asset to a team moving up to an objective, they often become detrimental to the team when they just hang back while the rest of the team starts capturing an objective.

The reason hanging back to cover your team doesn't usually work is because all of the capture points are fairly well populated with cover. This means that the enemy team can move up and defend an objective without you being able to see them to cover your team.

My first recommendation when using a sniper rifle is to never hang all the way back and "pew pew" people from as far away as possible. Keep an eye on your team and note where most of the fighting is happening. Now try and imagine an invisible "front line" that your team is fighting on. Move up just behind that line where you can cover your team but also shoot enemies who are advancing. Now, when your team starts moving up, you also need to move up. Rinse and repeat.

Sometimes your enemy has snipers that are holding a "lane" that your team needs to move down. You have two good options here as a Recon, 1) is to try and counter-snipe them, 2) is to go SMG/Cloak and sneak up from behind them and wipe them out. I prefer the SMG/Cloak method because once you've dealt with the sniper you can retreat back to your team, clearing out bad guys as you go. This creates a safe zone for your team to advance up.

Put the teams needs before your own, if you do this well you'll get a ton of points for using your abilities and capturing objectives. Since this is a tactical shooter, kill:death ratio really means nothing. I've seen people with negative kill:death ratios get MVP (best player on a team) while the person with no objective captures who went 23:4 isn't even in the top 3 players on a team. That's not to say that people who are really good at killing aren't helpful, they keep the enemy team occupied while the rest of the team can take the objectives and win by playing the objective.

The bottom line for ALL classes in GRO is that team play is paramount.

    Squad (team) chat
Can I VOIP with just a team? That would be Team Speak right? I'm to slo-ow for chat! Would I use ALT to update squad of movement (end-around etc.) or is this unwanted noise?
Please Mentor away --- much appreciated!

There is a built-in VOIP feature in Ghost Recon Online. By pressing "Left Alt," by default, you can speak with your team; your enemy will not be able to hear you. There are still bugs with it, which is why many of us currently use Ventrilo or TeamSpeak or similar program.
