    Driver: SF or TDU2?

Hey guys, I am looking for a new open-world racing game. Driver: San francisco and Test drive unlimited 2 are the best choices I can get.
I've played the demo for Driver SF and I wasn't really impressed, but it seems like a nice game. I also wonder why is the PS3 version looks so "washed up" in comparison to the PC version.
What are the disadvantages in Driver SF? Also, what's up with the mirrors in ****pit view? It looks like a bad magnifying glass or something...
Anyway, is anyone in here played both Test drive unlimited 2 and Driver SF? Test drive has Ferraris and Driver has Lamborghinis, and I'm kinda torn generally and having a bit doubt about both.
    Any help will be appericiated.
    Thanks!

    Well it's like this :

First of all, the mirrors - it's not a bug, the devs said it's gonna be like that before the release of the game because they wanted to have the game running on constant 60 FPS (on consoles at least)

And these are totally different games - TDU2 has better online experience, it's all about collecting cars and houses, and you can also modify your character, and you have lots of roads to explore - including offroad courses.

Driver though, is a completley different game - if you played any other Driver games before DSF then you will love the handling (I assume) - it's drifty and fun, and it has lots of old muscle cars, but top speed is limited to 207 MPH (in all cars, you just can't get past it), but the reason I perfer Driver is because I just find it more fun - it's hard to explain. The MP is also amazing, has lots of modes, but it is really problematic - hard to find matches (in all platforms), and on the PC for half the players (for me as well) MP is not working - just crashes when you enter the lobby.

So you just gotta take what you like, because as I said before, these games are completley different. TDU2 has better social experience, while Driver has better driving and a story (a good one in my opinion), what TDU doesn't have.

Also, TDU2 doesn't have Lamborghinis, only Ferraris. The first one has both, but in the second one they had licensing problems so they had to choose between Ferrari or Lambo, and they chose Ferrari.

    Hope that helped

Thank you very much. I am still thinking which one I should buy between the two, but at least you've cleared some things to me.

Yeah those are two different games. I don't understand why people want Ferraris and Lambos. I've also seen people absolutely wanting Bugatti's in DSF... seriously... WTF ?
If you want these cars, then Driver isn't the right game for you. It's about muscle cars and every day cars you see on the road. This game is not about driving fast, it's all about HOW you drive. I admit, the old Lambos are actually quite impressive and very interesting, but mainly because you don't see these in any other games.

But I loved The Getaway for example, where you saw normal cars on the streets.

These guys on Youtube who commented it's a crap game because there's no Bugatti's really make me laugh. It's like they have a huge attention problem and since they can't affoard them in real, they play games to drive these cars ha ha!

If you want to drive these cars in real, then there is some cheap Ferrari F355's - which is my favourite Ferrari by the way, and I really don't like many of them - starting at around EUR 30K. I know many people who drive new Golfs & BMW 1's with almost full options which cost them exactly the same price - the only reason they're better is because they're more reliable.

But again, I really don't understand, it's just sad to read. Sorry...
I think you better stick to the other game man. But if you can't decide, hell just buy both and then see...

I am not saying I won't buy a game because it doesn't feature Lambos or Ferraris, but it's an advantage.
Sure, I wanna drive these cars, Bugatti too, but I don't know if I should buy TDU2 or Driver SF.

Why the hell is it an advantage? These are the worst car from the game. Same with the police corvette: first it's just too NFS-Style, and second you can't even drive it normally in a chase without making it spin for like 10 times around itself. And if you happen to stay behind the car you're chasing, and you hit that car, the corvette will be going spinning again for another 5 times. It's not advantage at all and it's not even fun...

If we wouldn't have to eat, drink, go to the toilet, talk to people, breathe, smell, etc in real life, it would be a huge advantage wouldn't it! LOL no it wouldn't and there would be no fun in life.

    Go with TDU2 :P

If you like being able to steer your car, Driver San Francisco is the way to go. In TDU2, taking corners at speeds that should work are impossible. The back end of the car flies out unrealistically quickly, and then you end up doing donuts off the side of the road because it won't drive straight anymore

If you like graphics, TDU2 is way ahead of DSF.

If driving offroad is a must, choose TDU2

If you like weaving through lots of traffic and running from the cops, DSF is the way to go

DSF also has more car damage than TDU2

Both games can become rather boring

On the stupid topic of "Driver should only have muscle cars", I disagree. It should have more muscle cars and a 1970's era option, but it is a game and therefore should not limit us to crap cars like a Dodge Neon, because obviously supercars don't exist. And give us some more Japanese cars!!!
DRIVER 6 - my wishlist - Unlicensed Vehicles, Real-Time Car Damage, Car Flipping and Roll-Overs, On Foot AND Shift, Guns, No Invisible Walls, Able to drive of cliffs, jump fences etc, Performance Upgrades, Car Creator basic example, Set up Ramps and Stunts in shift mode, Reduce Framerate to 30fps and add back all the stuff you had to take out, Please and Thank You!!!

Well, I don't understand why the Dodge Neon is a crap car... yeah it looks funny, and it's "slow" but that doesn't mean it ain't fun... driving with 300 km/h across traffic in a buggati veyron just is not realistic and not even fun... I like the slow cars because they're fun to crash, fun to flip. Fun to just drive around and look at the city. Fun to watch! Watching their details and admiring them. Exotic supercars are just overrated and the kids want them. If everyone has a lambo in multiplayer mode, how are you being faster? Not at all... and if you're a bad player, you'll loose anyway. If they weren't lambos, and everyone had "normal" cars, you wouldn't be slower, because others don't have faster cars either. Of course the same thing applies here if you're not a good plaer. Those kids always just wanting supercars act like they have a huge attention disorder. How are they're going to act when they get their license one day and realize they won't be driving a bugatti? trolololololol

Driving a Bugatti 300kph through traffic is very realistic, because it can reach those speeds, and it would be very fun. The game should have all types of cars, because it is a game, but also because real life has all kinds of cars, therefore it is realistic.

Driving slow cars in DSF is boring because the roads are miles wide and intersections are miles apart, you reach top speed long before you have to turn. Also cops are not in equally slow cars

I too love crashing and flipping cars, but they've taken the fun out of that with DSF, since cars rarely flip, and when they do, they don't continue to flip, and they don't crash right either, the car you're driving will stay pointing relatively straight in a crash. It ruins the game

Also I don't play multiplayer mode, not to mention the fact that very few exotic cars are made and they're very expensive, 99.999% of people will never drive them, fewer will own one, an even better reason to put it in a game

I don't know in what city you live but where I live it's not even possible to drive the limit of 50 kmh in the city because of traffic. And I'd love to know when was the last time you saw a bugatti crossing your street with 300 kmh.

Martin Edmondson himself said in an interview, that the SLR's and Aston Martins etc are nice cars, but that's for him personally it's all about the muscle cars, the others cars aren't so special because you see them in every game. Well for me it's the same, but I don't just like the muscle cars, but all normal cars or cars that you don't see in other games. That means also cars like the old Countach or Diablo...

But again, I don't know where you live, but "exotic cars" are not rare at all, actually so many are made that they're not even handbuilt anymore, but built by machines. The factory where Ferrari's are built even has some kind of small "forest" in the middle of it, so that the perfect temperature and humidity are reached for the machines to build these cars. I don't know maybe you're from america, I can't tell.

In my game at least, cars flip really nicely. I agree it isn't always easy to do that, but once they flip I just find it fantastic how the do about 10 roles and all parts are flying in the air. Almost Burnout style I think. Well I can't really judge. But I think it looks really cool.

I also agree that many people will not ever drive these exotic cars... that's why I love the Dodge Grand Caravan Taxi and similar cars, because I know aswell I will never ever in my life drive these cars LOL.
