Many people boycotted the MP by not playing it for a week and ubi striked back with a plague of terrible updates.

As much as it sounds 'sweet', it is just a wet dream, will never happen.
This^ ... they did bring back the 2 most popular ACB characters (Courtesan and Knight) but that's all we get folks. :P

Yup, although certain characters from ACR are simply alter egos of ACB characters. For example:
Prowler - Sentinel (both trained assassins with hoods)
Priest - Deacon (both holy men with robes)
Courtesan - Trickster (both are tied with a faction)
Blacksmith - Bombardier (both create and sell weapons to the templars)
Executioner - Renegade (both are in control of executions)
Smuggler - Brigand (both are known for trading items/information)
    Nobleman - Count (rich degenerates)

There's probably more but in a way they brought back some characters. too bad abut the weapons though. I like the customization but not like this. it would be great if all weapons were unique again (1/2 scissor, claw, axe, fan,...) but each character could have different versions of his/her personal weapons (e.g. Thief with different scissors, Footpad with all kinds of cool shivs,...) I wonder what they're going to do in AC3 since guns are very distinct to the time period but obviously wouldn't be very approriate weapons when certain characters can shoot others

Your mistakes were twofold I'm afraid. You sprung your Tripwire without looking to see if the game you hunted, was the one you'd snare. And you sold me short... I'm no murderer. I'm an Assassin.
Oh, but you will have your reward for finding me. And don't think about running off without collecting. My blade is faster...or my name's not Emvidasch.

I still can't believe that the Knight was actually popular though. There was already the Crusader for those who pre-ordered and the Gladiator was released the next month, whereas the Jester was pre-order material only and there wasn't a female clown to be bought with Uplay, like in ACB.
