Is it possible to deactivate a ps3 account on a non functioning ps3?

Is it possible to deactivate a ps3 account on a non functioning ps3?
I had a ps3 that I got sold and am no longer in possession of. I need to deactivate that account in order to re-download all of my purchased items on the new ps3 I have. Is it possible to do this online since I don't have access to my old ps3?

access your account on your new ps3, (email & passwop) then go to ps store and download history . your downloads should be there for you to re-download.

She asked how to "deactivate" the account. If the contents been activated several times, its not going to let her download the content anymore until she deactivates the other ps3s. http://us.playstation.com/support/an....htm?a_id=2616

This is just spam guys, look at the links in "her" signature.

On the off chance that anyone actually has the same question and is reading this you would likely have to call sony to get it done that's usually how it works with licensing issues where you can't deactivates software on a machine for whatever issue.
Broke my signature and reset my ignore list, well done Ubisoft...

this person posted under a different screen name before. same links in the sig, but before it was about using controllers. yeah, it's spam.

as for the question if anyone's curious, there is now the option to use http://www.qriocity.com and log in with your PSN. you're able to deactivate and reactive your devices (ps3, psp, etc.) for games, movies, etc. i recently did this with my own dead ps3 since they're now only allowing two ps3s to use the same content (instead of the previous quantity of 5).

    anyway, closing the topic now.
