The Legend of the runthrough of the Legend of Zelda
It has definitely been a while since I have been on this forums let alone posted anything but a little over a week ago i decided to do a playthrough of the many canon zelda games. this came about when I listened to the mario paint composer of "Legend of Zelda Super Epic Medley www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV-PgmzgiZI . I only had two at the time so i decided not really to go in any specific order. Not only will I be playing 14 different LoZ games but I will also attempt to 100% all of them. So far I have completed A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. Next up I have just entered the Woodfall Temple in Majoras Masks. Share your thoughts or any awesome experiences you've had with Zelda.

I still love Link to the Past till this day. I probably played it through at least 20 times on the SNES growing up. I have a GBA version and one on my Wii Virtual Console. I don't know what it is about that game, but it is still in my top five favorite games, and none of the other Zelda games even come close to it. Not even Ocarina of Time.
Speaking of OoT, I have a story about that game. It came out when I was a junior in high school. That year in school I was taking Pre-Calculus, and a bunch of senior guys (some of the smart jocks) who I was way to shy to talk to sat in the seats around me (we had assigned seats). After OoT came out, they began discussing it everyday before class started. I was always at least one dungeon ahead of them. When they got to the infamous Water Temple, they commiserated for about two weeks how the couldn't figure it out. At this point, I had already gotten past the Water Temple. I wish I had the guts back then to say "You need the longer hookshoot to move forward. You have to do [whatever it was you had to do]."

ChurnedMigster, can you play through my personal favorite Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link next and let me know how that goes for you? You've probably already beat it if you are a huge Zelda fan. It's really the dark horse of the series, but I loved it back when I first played through it so that it is now one of my favorite games of all time. I still remember some of the epic boss battles I had with the blue Ironknuckle or the first time a random person in town says "I can't help you" and turns into a bat that attacks you.
My introduction to Zelda came when I watched the Legend of Zelda cartoon on Fridays and when I saw that The Legend of Zelda consistently made it into Nintendo Power's top ten games every month. Out of curiosity, I bought the game and hated it at first cause of the graphics, repetitive music and how random it was, but it grew on me as I played it more. Sadly enough, I never had the opportunity to play A Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time. I hope if I get a Wii for Virtual Console that I will finally be able to play these Zelda games and other games I missed out on.

As part of my zelda runthrough The Adventure of LInk was on there so I had to do it. I had given it a few attempts when I was younger but never even beat the first palace. This time halfway through the first palace I already wanted to give up on it but i stuck through it and I spent all day gathering everything I could find. I'm used to the top down view and this attempt at the side scrolling cash cow was incredibly hard. Now even though my hatred towards the difficulty and change of view made me finally, after many years of playing video games, throw my controller I still think this was a good game. This game takes patience and once you learn that its way more enjoyable. I can completely see why you would like this game Darkshowers and highly suggest you get the VC games if you get a Wii. I'm finally on Wind Waker and have completed Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majoras Mask.

It doesn't look like I'm getting a Wii anytime soon since I'm getting a new PC first. Maybe once the Wii goes down in price when the Wii U comes out, I'll consider it. In any case, how far did you actually get in Zelda 2 as you never mentioned this?

I beat it the day i started it, I'm onto Phantom Hourglass now after beating Windwaker. Those treasure chests and charts were such a tedious tasks.
