Looking for a solution to MY lag or latency

I am in northern Calif. How far away are the servers? I’ve heard that 1000 miles on a game with hit-detection and listen servers is a bought the limit for FPS games. Also, would I benefit going with another GPU in SLI for this lag problem? My net speeds are about 5.6 mps down & 2. Something up load. The ping to the East cost is 520 to 740ms.
If I’m in the wrong forum, please tell me. Where to go lol

1 For FPS we need your PC specs and depending on your net speeds and where the game servers are which i don't think anyone knows yet lol. But you could post your ping and speedtest for a long distance go like 2500 miles if ya want. andsee what your ping and speeds are. if your hitting under 100ms you should be ok.

The servers are in Eastern Canada.

The GM's won't tell me anything more than that. I'm guessing they're in the Ubisoft Montreal offices though.

I'm playing the game fairly reasonably from Hawaii, so I think you'll be alright.

If you're using windows 7, have you tried putting the appearance on windows classic? That will make your gaming performance a bit better and less laggy (or at least it has to me)

    Thank you
I discovered a possible hang-up with my ip satellite bandwidth allotment giving me a ping of 420+ ms on up to 742 ms to the east coast. My computer has a gaming score of 7 .60 & 7.20 over all score. I haven’t O clocked anything yet’ ---- might help a little? -- or not.

Check out the follwoing sites for tweak to the OS that might help. I build and optomize gaming rigs as a hobby and these two sources have been awesome.

Be sure to research it well some things you might decide not to play with other items are very helpfull. I found to turn off unwanted processes and programs running in the back ground is one to follow up on. Also new drivers for every component that needs one. Anyway make sure to do a back up before you do anything. Trust me on this it will save you loads of time a grief.
