Can someone please help me out?

Ok so this may be off topic. But I have a situation and i dont know where I can look up on this. In the past 3 years or so, my house has been visited by many salesmen. And usually I think nothing of it. However, me and my dad have began to notice that there is something odd about these salesmen. They often act very odd, and have almost rehearsed speeches. We've also noticed that these salesmen have only been from water heater companies. And they are all very plausible/believable companies although i haven't heard of any of them before. The creepy part is that me and my dad often track these guys when they leave our house and we look where they go. And every single time the guy leaves our house and stands outside of our house fidgeting with either a phone or some sort of electronic device. After a few minutes or so he leaves, BUT doesn't go to any of the other houses. Also he seems to circle our house(i live on the corner of my street) and walks around the outside of our house for about 15 minutes and then leaves. Now this to me is very sketchy considering that all the guys act almost exactly the same. They come at extremely weird hours. Like late in the evening. Or shortly after school ends(came once at 3 when i just got back from school like 3 years ago)

Also there have been 2 situations where the guy has asked whether he can enter the house and ive let him in, because he said he had to check the water heater. He just walked into the basement and started looking around. Then he asked me to get something for him, and i left him for a moment or so and came back. Then he said that there was nothing wrong and left. He didn't leave a brochure, nothing he just said bye and left. Another time a guy offered to sell us a water heater, and my dad sat down and talked with him and then the guy walked around the house looking for the water heater. My dad actually said he would buy it and the guy wrote down our phone number, we filled out a form, but they never gave us anything. And they actually never called to make arrangements. Then we saw the guy loitering outside our house half an hour later. Also we asked what nationality the guy was, and he said Polish, and my dad said "oh i know a bit of polish" but the guy couldn't respond. He couldn't speak it.All of this is really weird to me considering, there have been like 5 of these incidents in the past 2 years or so. And to be honest its actually kind of creepy.

Now all of us here love talking spy stuff and all the stealthy business. Do you guys know whats going on or where i can learn more about this? Because i know alot of you will say they are just salesmen. But i know for a fact that these guys are definitely NOT salesmen. Because they don't even try to sell the product. They try to convince you to let them in, and later they stand around my house spying for up to an hour. Do you think our family is under surveillance for whatever reason? or someone is suspicious of our family for committing a crime or something? It's really eerie and I want to f*&% them over if i can somehow(although i doubt it because if they are going through all this trouble, itll be hard)

3 years? and nothing untoward has happened (Thank God)? They may be regular salesmen you know. Did you try looking up their companies? Anyway, if you do suspect them
I strongly suggest you call the cops next time you find one of these guys loitering around and please refrain from following them. They seem really suspicious but at the same time lets give them the benefit of the doubt....don't try any schemes to **** them over or try to pull a 'Nancy Drew'.

Alert the authorities and please don't try anything stupid.

Who gives a **** what the cops think..you have a genuine concern, and they **** well check it out. And why would UC cops be investigating you in the first place?

Naw man...call the cops, let them know at least. Give them a description, the company name and the details of all the visits...let them handle it. And you're in Canada! isn't the government there supposed to be awesome.

    Seriously call the local authorities.....

Don't let random strangers into your home.
Control the conversation, ask THEM questions, ask to view identifying materials (badge, clipboard and paperwork). Basically, get some facts you can follow up on.

Register a formal complaint at your local precinct anyway...its good to have a 'history' of such things in case things (god forbid) go awry in the future.

Oh and next time a Salesman comes around, looking suspicious do the following:

    1. If you are ripped- open the door shirtless, preferably with Nunchaks in one hand

    2. if not ripped but own handgun- open the door while polishing the pistol

    3. If in Canada- win them over with kindness and hospitality

I have heard that some thieves pose as salesmen or servicemen to get inside a house and scout it out before robbing it later. I am not sure if it's true, but it sounds like it would work. Do they say who they're with? Do they give you flyers or anything?
    Ubisoft, please prove me wrong.

Definitely. Play or be played. If you are REacting, the enemy is winning.

To expand on this, you can also scare off a scouting thief by taking pictures with a phone (license plates, faces, etc)

Yes, this is true. Thieves get away with this all the time. It's even happened in my own neighborhood. They're waiting for the house to be empty. Your best defense is eyes and ears. If possible, find a way to keep your house occupied or under surveillance at all times. Be mindful of when you leave your house empty with regularity.
