Assault Rifle Recoil is Straight out RUBBISH!!

    hi there

i can't be the only one who noticed this, but Assault rifles are just not playable for me here!

the weapon kicks like a Bull on a Redbull!...it's outrageous actually..i hit everything but the target!

i thought it was the attachments that make this weapon playable, so i bought 2k worth of attachments for my starting weapon..nothing changed..
thought it was a crappy weapon to begin with..bought the D20 Rifle, same crap...after another 2 k in attachments, slightly better..but still crap!

SO, i told myself that this weapon is crappy too, i went ahead and got my self a 4.5K (MK 16 SV) and 3.2k 1-4 scope for it (not an easy task you know!..i will discuss the rarity of resources another time..now is not the time)..guess what?..IT'S WORSE THAN MY STARTING WEAPON!!

GOD, it's just frustrating when someone is shooting at you with a Pistol, and you got a big @ss Rifle, AND CAN'T DO NIL WITH IT!!

i hope they fix this soon, because Assault class will be greatly nerfed if they can't play their main weapon, going with shotguns now after i wasted a fortune on this..really, really frustrating!

the game got potential, but this flaw made me quite playing it for 3 days (rage quite, literally!) cause i just couldn't bring myself to forget all this time gathering RP for absolutely nothing.

I also believe the level 1 Assault rifles are so bad that many quit the game altogether from the initial frustration. I had to talk several friends into sticking with it, at least until they could get a better weapon. They were not easily convinced. I had to record video to show that not all guns had such horrible recoil. I actually think that the starter Assault rifle might be the worst gun I've ever used in any game.

I think most newcomers to the game will start with Assault and quickly become very frustrated. I almost quit but really liked the overall game mechanics and told myself I'd grind just to try something with less recoil.

If you can at least get to the AS VAL (level 5) with a good sight (open reflex 1x add grip and extended mags later) with your sanity in tact, I think you will be a bit more pleased. It still has a lot of recoil compared to most games but is manageable. You could try using a cheap shotgun to get you there.

    It gets better.

first of all, this topic was sitting here for 2 days without a reply, i thought i was going insane...and i am the only one feeling this way

second of all, i couldn't agree more that all people are starting out as an Assault (supposed to be fairly easy..at least more than other classes) and they get frustrated right away

i skipped the AS VAL, i went for higher (MK 16 SV) assault rifle..the damage on that thing is crazy..2 bullets (shot right) and the enemy is dead...but the recoil is just ridiculous..maybe worse than he Gi..

i decided not to dish any more cash on the assault class...i can handle one more big Fail like my last 8K RP which was absolutely wasted on this class..maybe the Pentagon SG, but what's an "Assault" class without it's "Assault" rifle!!

get used to it like the others did.

theres some good assault players out there, and they arent that rare, so it cant be too hard eh?

so you wasted like 8k rp duh? sounds like alot...

its a beta, try out as much as you can and give feedback, if you dont like a character why dont you just try out another instead of rampaging about it, just chek the leaderboards theres obviously people who can play assault quite well..

maybe specialist is more of your thing, try it.

by the way, my lv 8 assault ( i dont rly play it that ofent ) is running around with the starters gun, i dont have any problems with it.

    here is the thing, ...

i just found out that it's all in the scope..i installed an Open red dot sight (another 2 K) on my "MK 16 SV"..and guess what...34 kills in my 1st round!!

that can't be right, the recoil is just absent when playing with this sight..how come other sights wiggle like a dog after a bath, and this sight is rock solid when shooting?..

assault rifles are supposed to work with scopes like ACOG (3.0x, 3.5x) ...but in this game, guess it's 1x or go home

now i understand why some players excel at Assault, and others quite from frustration

P.S: i play assault because it fits my style, i play recon and spec too, but you can't just tell me to leave 1/3 of the game broken like this and think it's OK, right?

well... buying the M27 D20, which is just another version of the starter rifle, was maybe not the smartest move. if you wait for the MK16 or the ACR and fit a grip+muzle break on them, you can can control the recoil pretty easily... meanwhile, you could use the AS-Val, which is available early, not too expensive and definately worth the money!

but please dont buy a pentagun or become just another recon like everyone else and their mother, the assault rifles are really nice if you have some patience!

it only seems that way, cause the reflex sight has no zoom. the recoil on 3.5x scopes is exactly the same, but feels harder to control cause you're zoomed in and you have to move the mouse further to stay on the target... which is only logical to me... you can see it pretty easily with a phantom scope...

i fitted a phantom scope before the open red dot one (yup, 3.2K destroyed right there xD) but it was absolutely worth it..it's just not made for assault rifles..
the FOV is just too narrow for you to see anyone when looking down the scope..and the zoom switch ( plus the firing mode switch) is just too much to do in the heat of battle like a descent assault player should always be in

anyway..i was fairly new to the game when i bought that D20..now i know it was kind of stupid, tutoring my little brother -who is starting in this game now- not make my mistakes

The starter gun for most classes is awful. Luckily, it's not a really long grind to level 5, where the guns become substantially better, IMO. Protip: do NOT buy a pentagun, they are a crutch, and will actually make you a worse player in the long run.

An assault rifle isnt supposed to have a 4x scope, in this game you will rarely encounter long distance fights in public, rather than that its close distant fighting all the time.

so yeah, close distant weapons and the correspondig optics can give you a boost in certain situations, if they are the majority, you might wanna adjust to it.

the recoil is still the same, simple mathematics, if you look 200 meters ahead and fire the way you pass in the distance is greater than the way you pass right in front of you ( simple arithmetic, draw a triangle, its called intercept theorems )

well, i am not that kind of Pentagon camper..and i hate the kind of people that camp it all the time..so don't worry..i won't turn into a jerk

and about the 4x scope, i am not talking about the game, am talking real life ..ACOGs (3.5x) are fitted on an assault rifle all the time..and while the math is pretty obvious (i am a medical student alright..but i still know some, never the less ) it IS supposed to have a manageable recoil at 3.5x.

anyway, i am not complaining, since this game really doesn't call for more than a 1x scope in most situations..and when it does..i manage with this scope (1x), i actually snipe snipers with this thing now ..the are like WTF?!

now on a side note, i ran into an SMG recon 4 times in a round..my assault rifle against his SMG, i died every single time...if that's not weird then i am crazy!
