Sometimes I wonder if I am the only one at sea.

Was recently upgraded from a Tambor to a Balao in Dec 42, first encounter just south of Truk was a four ship convoy inline...two escorts, one in front the other bringing up the rear. The convoy consisted of a Nagara in the lead, followed by a Zimbu, Heito, Zimbu.

I decided to use all six forward tubes, three at the Nagara and three at the Zimbu right behind it. It was midday calm seas with no cloud cover. The lead escort passed my bows without detection at a range of about 2,000yds so figured I was going to have a easy shooting gallery.

I ID'd the Zumba and fired off the three fish, went to ID and fire at the Nagara but at such close proximity the Zimbu salvo was halfway to the target before the Nagara fish were released. As the Zimbu blew up and sank, the now alerted Nagara was able to avoid all but one torpedo.

While trying to keep up with the damaged Nagara, the two escorts (I never ID'd but appeared to be sub chaser types) hounded me good. After about 45min real time I gave up on the wounded Nagara and evaded the escorts to resume my travels to my assigned area in the Bismark Sea.

Sorry that I didn't take any screenies....but it seemed like an ordinary attack, nothing special. Well accept that my plans didn't work out.

I'm still here. I check-in fairly frequently to see if there are any updates. My new puppy has been usurping much of my time and attention. He's growing rather quickly and needs consistent training. What little time I have left is split between checking the forums and a search for Wolferz. I've made some headway, but not enough to uncover anything of significance about his disappearance. Anyway, it's been such a long time since I posted anything about my successes on the Pacific front. I don't think I've ever written about my numerous failures. The forum sure is quiet these days. I don't ever recall it being this quiet. I've tried to liven things up a bit, but no one seems to have the heart for it anymore. I know of some who have other obligations to tend to, but the absence of others, all around the same general timeframe, sometimes piques my already suspicious nature torward an organized avoidance.

I know some have had issues with the new forum, the way it looks and it's usability, but it has always been the company that mattered the most to me. Guys like Wolferz, Tambor, MWolfe, cmdrmoosicvs and, well, everybody. I've always overlooked my own issues with the new forum because the membership is why I come here in the first place. Lately though, I've detected some attitude changes in the way members have typed their posts or replies, though that might very well be just a product of my inquisitiveness, so I'll refrain from elaborating. I also suspect that some members may have neglected too many personal obligations and are now tending to those. Either way, I sure do miss the interactions, which were fun and sometimes bordered on hilarity. Don't know if those days will ever return, but I'm always full of hope.

I check in occasionally too but am playing BF3 and Skyrim at the moment sorry. Will get back to SH4 sometime.

Not much info being posted lately so there is nothing for me to respond to.

My latest patrol has been a lng one. I have had to work around two spawning points that crashed the game. But there is less then a year left, and I have sunk more warships on this career then all my other careers combined. I'll get back to my U-Boat career as soon as I finish this one.

I am still around, I check this fourm almost everyday.......I only respond when nobody else has,or if I can add something different to the topic at hand. I dont play TMO, so I have been sort of an oddball around this forum.

I have not been playing SH4 in a bit, so I have no new screenies to add to competition. I might just have to start up the game soon.

I have been playing Navyfield for a bit, mind occupation game, need this distraction lately.

Well, I for one cherish the people here and consider you all friends. The enjoyment and help I receive here are what really and truly make this game worth playing.

I still check back frequently, and as captgeo wrote, I only respond when I have something useful or different to add. As the forums in all games, as the game gets older, there are fewer newer players that need help. Therefore, fewer posts. With fewer posts, people don't interact as much and that creates even fewer posts. Add to that, with the time of year in the Northern hemisphere, people are becoming more active outside and a game forum gets pushed even lower on the list of importance.

@ Wern, so you picked up on the organized avoidance eh? Well I guess we'll have to put plan B into affect, out right ostracism.

Well, I'm back from out of town....I don't think the new format made it worse than it was, cept some hate the res. for the SS contest and admit they don't enter. Don't think they're is any so called
organized avoidance, lol, does slow down more in the spring and summer. Many are at that other place, it is a better forum overall, but I still call this home. I guess I can push the limits again and write
another play, see if I can get Tambor to sharpen his dull moderator pencil, but if gay communist lust didn't do it, wow, really have to come up with something more.......

Still I see no word on Wolferz......not right, I fear something must be really wrong and we may never know.....
