    Just delete the recon class

Is it me or does the recon class pretty much make everything else useless? The ability to cloak, get behind an entire line, then wipe a team. I was honestly hoping to find a game where precision, skill, and teamwork will conquer any feet. Not another call of duty, apb, etc. A shooter that if i crouch and line up a shot I'll have double the accuracy rather then some fracking recon running balls deep into me spraying his sub machine gun. I was told at PAX that this game would be a slow moving & tactful. The recon class doesn't even have a hold breath mechanic when firing a sniper rifle. A gun that can one or two shot kill someone without any difficulty. There is a reason why most teams usually have 3-6 recons.

Yeah, that reason is that people like sniping.

Cloak is not overpowered. It's useful and does what it is supposed to do very well, but it isn't a game-changer. Cloaked players are still slighly visible (look for light warping or a random "shimmer" walking toward/by you), so you can spot them if you keep an eye out for them. Plus, it makes a sound on activation and deactivation, so you can tell if somebody is cloaked or emerging from cloak nearby. I've done this many times much to the chagrin of my enemies :P

Plus, you don't need cloak to flank. I play as an Assault who runs slower because of heavy armor, and I still flank with relative ease. That's why I'm guaranteed to get first place on my team in 75% of the matches I play (that and actually doing objectives).

And nothing is wrong with SMGs in my opinion.

It's not difficult to pick people out of cloak, and it is difficult to cloak at the right time to where you can successfully sneak by a team. It takes timing and plenty of distraction.

"tactful" has nothing to do with "tactical".

crouching shouldn't make THAT drastic of a change in accuracy.

SMG's were designed to be used on the move.

Skill precision and teamwork will win most games in GRO. Get in a good fireteam of four, no matter who your teammates are you will rock most opposition.

This game is definitely more time consuming to learn/understand than most shooters, it's got a whole crap ton of problems, but cloak and smgs really aren't one of them in my opinion.

Maybe recon shouldn't have sniper rifles and SMGs? Running around with an SMG is just like being assault, isn't it? Whereas sniping is sniping... patience, skill, or something like that..?

The role of the SMG wielding recon is to move forward, but a sniper should be stay back and pick off the enemy at long range. The SMG would use the oracle so the team following could know the location of enemies, while the sniper would use the cloak to stay concealed.

Maybe it's sniping that doesn't belong... it isn't at all what real-world snipers do.

I find that most SMG Recons use Camouflage, not Oracle, and most sniper Recons use Oracle.

It makes sense. Most games would label the equivalent class a "scout" and they would have both an infiltration and sniper-support loadout. Pretty standard fare for this type of game tbh.

When I play my low-lvl recon (with SMG) I usually get more kills in less time with fewer bullets fired. That's why I burried my assault and started to play a shotgun Specialist. The assault class is barely useless and most of the time I die by sniper rifles, SMGs or LMGs. Now and then there's a death by an AR but that's seldom.

So, no. Don't delete the Recon class, delete the Assault class, it's redundant.

PinkTaco, Typhoon, lepziboy1, and I would all beg to differ in oh so many ways about that.

Assault is boss, the SCAR is a beast of a gun, the extra health makes you a massive pain in the *** to snipers, and the shield makes me rage so hard when I flank an assault guy and dump half my mag into the shield before I realize I need to shoot him somewhere else. I just started playing Assault after hitting lvl 20 Recon, and I can definitely see its potential at the later levels. Just getting that shield on my back absolutely made my day.

The SMGs are fine. It doesn't make them anything like an Assault. They have far less health, armor etc. If you get the drop on a SMG recon with **** near anything hes done.
