Question How to trigger Aegis and Blackout correctly?

Yeah, I know. It's a kinda noob question

I'm using blackout and aegis for a while now but I still don't get when to trigger the activation after the charging.

So I hit the F but.ton (default setting) and the bar fills. After one third there's a little mark or line that I usually ignore (what is that for?) until the bar is completely filled, then I hit the F but.ton again and the Device activates. But when I don't hit the F key at the end of the bar a light-red rectangle appears which slowly fills with red colored something. What is that for? I know that it overloads when you let that rectangle fill up completely but does it make any difference at what point you active the device? From my perspective the effect seems to be always the same no matter when I hit the key the seconds time. Is that correct?

I really need some insight on that one

The longer you charge Aegis, the longer it will last. The longer you charge Blackout, the larger the area of effect will be. You can only charge up to a certain point, and that point is when the bar is full and you see the red beginning to fill the rectangle. You gain no benefit from charging any more. The reason it's there is to give you a little leeway on when you activate the ability.

Good job on a spot-on explanation, Jace!

Ah, that clarifies it, thanks! But one thing is missing in your explanation What's the little mark at one thrid of the scale for? Do you maybe have to charge at least to that specific point to gain the effect at all?

It has to have that much energy in order to begin charging it. The line is where it stops passively gaining energy.
