Sweet Home was the first one I noticed. Then Play With Fire. Actually everyone I looked up was different, like. More Than a Feeling and Slither. Most sound like the album and are just a different fingering. Even with tab books, songs are not always the same, but they should follow the album cut they are targeting.
Sweet Home Alabama and Smoke on the Water sound nothing like the album, at least the solos. Sweet Home is closer. I've got tab and have listened to both the album and live versions of SH, and I cannot find any that sound like RS. I have not listened to all versions of SOTW, but it is not like the original studio version.
Most songs in RS, I can play along with the MP3 versions, no problem. But there are a few that don't work.
In Bloom is charted funny too. There's more shifting in the RS version. And if you watch the video for it Kurt Cobain's hands aren't moving around too much. I wonder if on some of these songs if they chart them differently to make them ore accessible to first time players?
To me, there are parts of Jeremy combo 1 that sound horrible. There is no way in my view that McCready or Gossard (or Vedder) play parts of that combo, on the CD, in any concert or even jamming in their basement. Parts sound waaaaay off to me. Way off. I was convinced I was reading it wrong but I don't think I am. Most of sounds pretty cool though so whatever. It's all good.
