Well in that case, I'd say check pawn shops or Craigslist. My buddy works on PCs and even fixed some broken consoles, but he saw a Dell XPS Studio with a first gen i7, 4GB ram, and a 4850 for $400 and he bought it. It still runs great. He also saw an ad saying something along the lines of "First person to email me gets 4 computers for $10." He happened to be the first one, so he got four towers for $10 total. One of them had 4GB ram in it. Btw, I know it's like trying the lottery, but go to Alienware Arena. They have sweepstakes every so often. Just keep trying to win one. The only reason Alienwares are so overpriced is that Dell wants to sell you an operating system, extra software, a gaming mouse, a gaming keyboard (even with a laptop), and other things that just hike up the price. I "built" a laptop on the Dell website to see the pricing. It was $6000 or $120/mo. The network card I chose claimed to have wired connection speeds over wireless. I would never buy one, but if I was given a working one, I wouldn't say "Lol Alienware." I'd actually use it.

I won't buy anything DELL anymore. I had a inspirion 17 and had nothing but hardware issues with it out of the box. Alienware is so pricey is because of their crazy mark-up on the hardware inside it and stupid bells and whistles like the back lit keybaord and such same with HP's envy. Been looking at a new pavalion dv7 quad. Its a out of the box but Intel Corei7-2860QM Processor (2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz) and 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7690M GDDR5 Discrete Graphics [HDMI, VGA] Gcard which i believe its a renamed 6750m with gddr5 mem. only $1600 compared to a envy with same build minus the bells and whistel of 3D screen and glasses and backlit keyboard saves like a grand.

And sorry this thread got hijacked over this lol.

No problem. It's not like the GM's would show all the lag compensation complaints to the developers in hopes of fixing the game. I'm tired of headshooting someone for a spark and *ping!* but no damage. Reminds me of sniping in BF2 a while back. I gave up sniping to try the SMG though, since I see some people doing exceptionally well, and people QQ when I'm 10/0 and a nub says "If you're taking out snipers, why am I dieing then?"

Buying a prebuilt is the most expensive thing you could do. I could build anything alienware makes, for half or less of what they charge. Building a computer these days requires the ability to follow instructions, ownership of 1 phillips head screwdriver, and having the manual dexterity required to make toast. That extra $$$ you save? More games, bigger monitor, dinner dates with the wife, there are many good reasons to build your own.

Like I said, my rig only cost $470. I would never buy an Alienware, but if I was ever given a working Alienware in decent condition, it would be stupid to laugh and not use it unless I had a PC with 32GB ram, crossfire or sli newest cards, etc.

    Not the laptops.

Also, all the "extra" cost in Alienware laptops usually comes from the "custom" cases and the software development they need to do for all the Alienware specific features and licensing. If you strip that away they're on par with the other pre-built systems out there. That still makes them overpriced for the performance you're getting, but if you want the Alienware aesthetics you've got to buy Alienware...

I was really satisfied with my M15x build quality and such. Probably the most solid laptop I've ever handled, and that's coming from a guy who worked at Voodoo PC making ACTUAL custom systems for people. I'm talking gold-plating cases to doing custom artwork and perfect cable management here. If you know anything about Voodoo PC from before HP bought them (funny, that seems to be when I quit) you know they were AWESOME systems.

thats understood creeper but a desktop isnt mobile. only real option iis to buy a barebones asus which start at 400+ and add what i want but the hard part is finding mobile hardware forsale. i have no issue building one just the options to build mobile are not that out there yet. asus g74 or a msi rig if i am gonna spend the cash fro say a alienware i would rather go asus or msi
and anti i like the SMG and personally am laughing at all the nerf the SMG threads in suggestions. If they where to nerf the SMG they would have to nerf pitsols and that ammo carries over to SMG's. and people complaining about SMG acc at range most are using a SMG in Semi and the range dmg does drop off alot on the SMG. Next issues that i only have a gripe with is the SMG's recoil is crazy. i shot my smg i feel like i am firing my rifle in semi or even aa shot gun.

    Here's your portable desktop powerhouse:

Anyway. I think I just realized that I may of been confusing client hit-detection for client hit-registration. Hit-detection on the client-side isn't at all easier to abuse if you're a hacker, it's only if hit-registration is calculated client-side and then sent to the server that it becomes a problem.

HAHAHAAAAA wow thats epic in that case.

And yes i remember vodoo rigs they where epic i didnt know HP sucked them up. I also think thats what happened to alienware with me when DELL sucked them up they just went downhill and become way over priced IMO. Personally i think anything from DELL is just overpriced. Probably why i am nota fan of intel nor nvida. 1 yes intels are faster then AMD but intels burn hotter. nvida this is a toss up but i think it really comes down to being like the arguement chevy ford or dodge its all personal prefence i love AMD Gcards but thats me.

    Hi Anti-Fox,

The GMs have been forwarding this information to the developers. We do show all complaints to the developers and we also push for things to be fixed that have an impact on players and their ability to play the game. Also the developers of Ghost Recon: Online log on to these forums and read the posts and the issues you guys bring up. They want to know what you have to say. They want to know where the biggest issues are regarding the game and your ability to play it.

We are aware of the issues that are happening and understand and empathize when they happen. And forwarding that information on is a vital part of our job and one we take very seriously. Every GM on this game takes any and all feedback we receive and passes that information on to the development team (sometimes players forget that GMs have no development powers over the game).

Also please remember that the game you are playing today is a product of previous feedback from the players. Feedback from current day is worked into future developments of the game. We want your feedback on how to improve the game. We are all gamers here and take gaming very seriously

    Sincerely,
