    SMGs Need A Helluva Nerf

The SMG is one of the two most powerful weapons in the game, on par with the broken Pentagun -- maybe even better. With their negligible recoil, their ridiculous accuracy, their extreme rate of fire, and their high damage, they outdo every other gun in the game. If an SMG and an LMG go head-to-head, all things being equal, the SMG will win every time. I have not tested it with an assault rifle, but I don't see how the result would be any different. Add to that the fact a cloaked Recon can sit in your lap without you seeing him (even if you're looking for him), the game loses all semblance of balance.

Yes i agree SMG's are far to accurate at range. I can understand a SMG beating a LMG close range because of the RoF but I do agree it's rather annoying to try and kill someone using a SMG with a LMG even if you get the first shot. Heck SMG's are just as good if not better then my As Val which has a RoF of 900. It's already annoying enough to have recon's cloak flank you but its even worst when they flank you and are 20 meters away... Have time to reload because they killed you from so far away, and have time to kill the next person as they get closer.

How about this (as well as some other balance changes):

    • If Recon players are using an SMG with the Cloak ability they take an ammo capacity penalty. Could be justified by saying that the cloaking tech takes up more room.

No I don't think that's a great answer for the problem.

Well like I said, more than just that needs to be done but it could help by preventing SMG players from raping an entire enemy team from behind their lines.

SMG recons are one of the most cheapest classes to play in this game. A proper flank will annihilate the entire team, even if we saw him coming with sprint detection. The second he stops sprinting, I have no clue where he is anymore. And the fact that they can do the same thing every 2 minutes or so is ridiculous. As a sniper, I shouldn't have another recon be able to sneak past my team and get behind me without anybody noticing. I'd say that the damage needs to be toned down a little on SMGs and cloak needs to be a little more visible. The accuracy is fine considering SMGs are suppose to be accurate.
It is not in the interest of those who balance the world whether you're good or bad, but so long as both sides are equal.

That gives me another idea to balance SMG-Cloak Recon players:

    • Make Cloak work less effectively against other Recon players (let them see other Cloaked Recon's easier than the other classes). Then maybe the Recon's watching flanks with sniper rifles could actually do their jobs!

i couldn't agree more, after facing a whole team of recons.

seriously now?SMG'S are the problem? What about overpowered shotguns with ridiculous range? What about the accuracy of MK16 at full burst? what about the fact that you actually have skills to use as countermeasure when being shot (like blitz, heat).Stop crying all the time about recon class being imba cause you know well that its not the case.Imo smgs mechanics and rof are fine.

Have you only played this game for one day?

The only OP shotgun is the Pentagun.

The accuracy of the MK 16 comes down to the person using, as an avid user with a fully spec'ed out MK 16 I can tell you that the recoil is SUBSTANTIAL.

Abilities are there for exactly that purpose, to help your character out, be it pushing or not dying.
