    It's all about GREAT map design which strikes a balance between size and vehicle number along with keeping teamplay at heart - or not if the game is a free for all. If the balance is struck right you can have fantastical maps which we all can relish. I'm not sure if this is the best example but the Battlefield 2 Modern Combat map on PS2 comes to mind named "Backstab" was a perfect example of such a map.

    The map was so good it ended up being the only map played. The map was small enough to have tight infantry focued gameplay at the centre but was also large enough to support vehicles moving around at first and then into the centre of town where they became more vulnerable. It's maps like these which I want to see recreated in Far Cry 3.

    I know Far cry won'y include jets and tanks and armoured combat but the niche Far Cry can pull is that it can experiment with more quirky vehicles such as jetskis and quadbikes and "those-crazy-jeeps-you-often-see-mercenaries-on-with-machine-guns-on-an-open-top-roof-jeep". These vehicles will be a good inclusion to the game, I'm not expecting helicopters and anti-aircraft missile lauchers, I'm expecting an inclusion (to the editor at least for player matches) of an array of smaller vehicles which can give the far cry 3 multiplayer an extra spice of life and allow for a window of opportunities for great moments and experiences which will simply not be allowed to unfold if vehicles simply "aren't there".

    I think vehicles would only work in a free for all deathmatch... That is no team play what so ever.... If there was a mode like this then I think it could be put to good use as there are potentially more enemies on a map and the size to accomodate vehicles a blance can be perhaps struck on this one.

    This mode was called chaos in Far Cry Instincts Predator.... I think perhaps if they bring this back this is where they should go

    - have precise, manual controls - e.g. no auto-aim
    - put balance, challenge and fun above realism
    - be full of fast-paced real-time action
    - let cunning, intelligence and skill decide who wins (PvP)
    - have simple mechanics: easy to learn but difficult to master

    The probleme with Far Cry 3 multiplayer is that Ubisoft choosed the wrong way to program the online environment. The best way to make a multiplayer today is the way Rockstar did with Red Dead Redemption. They made a huge Open World map......with many fight zones so fans can choose from one zone to another to have close, Fast-paced Combat-action BUT can also.... so explore freely all over the map, play mini games or fight AI characters or animals.....that increase alot the fun we can have online with the game....

    In Far Cry 3 it could be the same.....fans would gather together in specific area like villages or hideouts, camps etc to fight Fast-paced Combat-action BUT would also be able to explore the entire Archipelago to...play mini games...fight AI resident or animals or simply chill out...!

    I really hope Ubisoft will find a way to make Far Cry 3 that way.... otherwise it would really be wasting the FC3 potential......

    I understand you steve but I think the game want's to be a competitive shooter first before taking this direction

    i understand but i still hope Ubisoft will add an option in the co-op mode or the editor mode to let us play online in a open world, paradisical.... tropical world..!

    why the multiplayer could'n have both modes.....some small maps without vehicles for fast paces action and some big maps with vehicles for those who like those kind of open world multiplayer maps...

    The reason why they could not do this is due to the consoles. Farcry 3 will use a modified Crytek Engine (Dunia 2). GTA 4 and Red Dead: Redemption use the Rage Engine. The Rage Engine is designed around to handle multiple users all at once, and even the game suffers with bandwidth issues. While the Crytek Engine is designed to handle one user on a large map.

    Maybe I'am wrong. Maybe it was a design choice? To appeal to the masses. There are more reasons that we will ever know. I still do not believe that the world will be ten times larger with all the Farcry worlds combined. No way you can convince me, until I see it.

    Without vehicles it'll be more akin to Call Of Duty which no one wants..

    YES, please incorporate vehicles, at least into the editor.
