    stronghold troop preservation?

I just started playing stronghold campaign. It looks like stronghold has no healer unit? And stronghold heroes have very little magic mana which causes magic like Regenerate, Heal and even Life Drain can be used only once or twice per battle. For other factions, in most battles I can manage to have no unit lost in the end but not for stronghold.

How do you guys preserve stronghold troop? Thanks!

On my playthrough, my best friends were Reinforcements and Life Drain.
Plenty of archers and creatures with high initiative as I recall, so you do have some advantages. Early game, you're probably going to lose some units.

I lose units in almost every battle on the Stronghold Champaign. I think this just works like that since you have no healer... It's certainly harder this way for sure.

Like BMRobo says, reinforcements on centaurs. AI always love to hit them first lol. Rage II will increase damage and hence lifesteal. Spam heroism and the skill that gives max damage. Try to get inner fire, lifedrain and regen scrolls from the marketplace whenever you can. The Hall of Raiders was made to help Stronghold spam them.

so it's good to pick up spells from different magic school even if u have a proficiency from start to air for ex ? as long as you go all blood or all tears ?
been having lots of trouble in the stronghold campaign even on normal...seems impossible for me on hard

I think i m gonna start it from scratch with another custom hero(I like going magic affinity)

and also..the shouts are good only for might affinity heroes ?

IMO this is one of the biggest flaws of the game. It was supposed to be designed so you don't have battles with zero losses as the norm. The healing/resurrection spells & healing troops are simply overpowered IMO. I mean be "somewhat" realistic. How many wars have you seen with zero casualties on one side? Sure, the goal should be for the player to minimize losses, but to remove them completely...I'd only expect to do that on a really one-sided battle. But I digress. :O)

Yup reinforcements with life drain, with rage above level one life drain works wonders. You should remove from using whole unit stacks from battles sometimes if you are aware what you are facing and what they are targeting.
If you dont get those 2 abilities early on the campaign could be very hard, you will lose a lot of units it is almost impossible for a might hero.
I dont know about tears might over magic might be cool in big fight against magic hero, I went blood and didnt rush them much, so blood fury is okay power of the horde too but if you are reinforcing your maulers and later you centaurs blood and tears abilities dont play such a huge role..
I havent played much magic heroes to clarify that healing/resing spells are OP certainly arent for a might one even with the appropriate points in the magic school.
Surely feels like you are winning a lot of battles with no loses and all comes to 1 or few fights. I would love to see the game even while doing your best lose some units here and there and that small number or loses you will have to play critical role in overall winning or losing the map. So far doesnt look like that.

Completely agree. Remember in heroes 3 and even in 5 (not playing "pro") there was two starting strats- build up an army and overpower weaker enemies or use extreme tactics and take on difficult foes, take losses but gains levels much sooner.

I *HATE* how stacks grow, so even turning on slow enemy growth it is almost impossible to get them to flee. Even that isn't possible because of tears/blood. So you have to fight through so many tedious "trivial" battles for no reason because of tears/blood making enemies fleeing too powerful.

I hate tears/blood implementation too btw. Play as tears? No damage spells for you!
