The Barrel Drop & Team Support

Ok I am loving this new addition, at first I was worried that it would be too much like COD where the guy with the most kills would control stuff constantly hovering above the map but it seems they went a step further to make this Team Support their own.

Basically by earning enough Team Points you eventually get the Team Support option (not sure how many different things this will cover but so far they have shown us the Barrel Drop)

    Select the area from above.

The plane then flies over to it's destination (maybe Mercs have planes and Pirates have Helicopters?)

A pirate or Merc pushes out the barrel

Players get infected by the chemicals from withing the exploding barrel and have glowing eyes and all look the same

Everything goes insane while it lasts

Once infected you do not know who is on your team or who is the enemy, this will create total bedlam for those in the area and could make a difference to the match because I am sure a player killing a load of his team mates must alter their combined scores which might influence their advancement to gaining another shot at using the Team Support Weapon.

I wonder how many times this could be used in any one match, too many might spoil things - also how many different types of Support Weapon will there be in the game?
Again too many could be overkill in a way that it would be more about things dropping from the sky then doing the business on the ground, I hope that a team has to work extra hard to gain the use of these support weapons because allowing them too easy could become cheap, The team needs to feel they have accomplished something.

One last thing is DeathMatch / Solo mode, if these things are called Team Support and we are given a Solo mode then are these taken away in that mode or do they work like a kill streak with the player getting the most kills accessing these?
(I hope they leave it out of Solo if I am honest)

And wil there be an option anywhere in the Lobby / Game Menu for the Host before the match starts where they can turn On / Off Team Support?

UbiTimS can you get hold of the answers to any of the questions above please.

I liked the idea of this Team Support, although it is like CoD's "Killstreaks" Game Developers have to get their ideas from somewhere. This is quite a unique version (The Infected Barrel Drop) as this changes the view from the player. Good Thread.

I just found this info which says so far the Player had seen 3 choices for Team Support.

How do you get TSPs? You either revive your fallen comrades, using your ‘Battle Cry’, capturing mission objectives, and of course good ol’ fashioned killing people (though this earns you the least). A Battle Cry is when you press both analogue sticks down simultaneously and chant to nearby teammates. In essence it’s a proxy pep rally, so the more people who are around you when you use it the more TSPs you get.

Bizarrely, you can only earn a TSP to get these weapons but kills also count to towards it which leads me to believe this is a singular perk ladder for everything you do rather than just ‘supporting’ your team. You can now tag enemies and specific objectives using the back ****on, there will be a leveling system for your character, and of course weapon leveling.

The Team Support Points were spendable on only three rewards on the day, though there will likely be more options in the final product.
They were UAV, Psyche Gas, and Napalm (not official titles). The UAV does what it says on the tin, shows enemies on the mini-map, like all great first person shooters.

Psyche Gas is a little more interesting as it drops an orange gas onto a selected part of the map the player chooses and causes every enemy in that area to see all combatants as demonic black silhouettes with glowing blue eyes; it also turns friendly fire on, so you best have been paying attention or talking to your teammates or you’re about to become extremely unpopular very fast.
Finally, the Napalm is the same premise as the Psyche Gas only instead of mind-altering hallucinogens it’s just fire. Lots and lots of fire.

Interesting I like the sound of Napalm

The original Source was found here, It also covers The 2 game modes we know of and Spawn Times.
