    [Suggestion]Weather effect

H6's an artistic world and i like it.

Is it possible to add some weather effect in Map and Combat(such as rain, snow, wind, sun)? Screen must be very beautiful.

To my mind, your suggestion is really very interesting! I have also been thinking about such features as changing seasons and times of day. But, unfortunately, we shouldn't wait for these ideas being realized in "Might & Magic Heroes VI". As you can see, the Dev Team has not managed to fix even minor bugs yet. The process of improving the game is quite slow. I think everything we can dream about is a new faction with its campaign and terrain type - that's all, I guess.

We actually tossed that idea around quite a bit early on. I'm still surprised it never made it in. We had even suggested spells that had weather based effects. Basically put, we wanted to add some more flavor to the adventure map portion of the game. Spells that would block a pass with an avalanche, that would slow down movement in an area due to saturating the ground with rain, spells that would limit a hero's vision due to fog, earthquake spells that would collapse a mine and make it unproductive for a period of time and cause a player to "rebuild" the mine, etc. We had lots of unique ideas on that front. But that was VERY early on in the development back when Fabrice was still involved. Oh well. I guess there's always hope for 7.

    Seriously?!?!

Anyone who thinks that there should even be another Heroes game with these idiots in charge after they've clearly shown they don't know what they are doing, are delusional.
Either end the series right now or let another competant company take it over because Ubi has proven twice now that they are clueless.

If H6 team is buzy to do so much work. I hope to add 3D Particle (weather effect) in Map editor, so players can mod freely in later maps.

Why twice? If you mean Heroes V was bad, I don't agree at all. I also don't think Heroes VI is that bad.

Yeah, seriously. The way I look at it is that there is a big learning curve in making a game as complex as a Heroes game is in general. When Nival took the reigns for H5, they struggled to get a grip on the ins and outs of what the fans expect and of the complexity involved. By the time they reached the 2nd expansion, I thought the game was VERY solid. But unfortunately, they switched developers again for H6 so the learning had to begin again. And now that BH is out of the picture, it's about to happen again. I know that Ubi has been in charge from the beginning, but they're not the ones doing the programming, testing & designing. Changing developers (or making the wrong choices in developers) has been the biggest problem Ubi's done IMO. That, and of course pushing the developers to release by a specific time.

But even BH, the basic concepts of the game and the mechanics were solid and very good. The implementation though...pretty piss poor. You would think that they'd learn from their mistakes, but since it's not Ubi doing the actual WORK...the others haven't had the experience to learn from the mistakes of others. Crappy situation, but not un-salvageable.

Hey Sir Charles! What happened to your haven website except for nothing...
So why wasn't Nival allowed to continue with H6?

The Genie's Lamp....well, seeing as how I alone run it, it's as is for a while. 50 hour a week job, a wife and 4 daughters...well, that takes precedent. My spare time is usually spent actually PLAYING the games I love. I'm sure I'll update stuff eventually, but news and stuff, I'll leave that to sites that actually have staff to do it. :O) So I'll continue to keep the site up there and I'll tweek things as I get motivated to do so.

As for Nival...no clue seriously. I was never told an actual reason other than Ubi wasn't happy with the communication process during H5. But imo, at the end of the day...they got it right. It was a struggle to get there, but the end product was MORE than solid IMO. I really thought that, if given a chance, they would've knocked our socks off with H6. But alas...they don't ask this genie for major decisions. *grin*
