Proper Obedience To The Gods Of The Barbacue.

It was a kind of coolish day here in Carol Stream today, but my lady wife had asked me to barbecue some things for dinner today. So after making the proper obeisance (consuming two beers) I lite the charcoal. After about twenty minutes the charcoal started turning pink, so I knew the the Gods of the Barbecue had accepted my sacrifice. Dinner was a great success and the beer was terrific. Right now I'm at peace with the world.

    Tomorrow the golf course beckons.

"A total of sixty submarines were lost from all causes..."

I believe the true number is 52. Causes for the losses of 36 boats have been established - what happened to the remaining 16 remains a mystery. BTW - this Sunday (April 8) marks the 67th anniversary of the loss of the USS Snook (SS-279). She is one of the boats without a conclusive reason for her loss. She was last heard from on April 8, 1945. Happy Easter to all!
