beta only on for 7 hours?

is this a joke? i didnt even get to play because mine never finished downloading at 20 kb/sec when i normally have a 3 - 4 mb/sec connection. how does ubisoft expect anyone to beta test this product? ive never been on a beta test that limited to one 7 hour period. it should be constantly on. ubisoft is also the target of a lot of criticism for their DRM problems and how they completely disregard any of the consumers. clearly this "beta" goes along with that theme.
looking forward to actually playing this.

Ummm, its not strange for betas to be available for only certain periods of time since its main focus is gameplay tweaks, bug finding, and map balances. OB is where the stress testing will happen where UBI will leave the servers on all day and allow as many people to play. Also don't really see how the issue of DRM comes into play for an F2P game and currently UBI and the GMs seem quite receptive of the players feedback. The whole DRM outrage issue is another can of worms that isnt really for this forum IMO.

These sentiments are true of open betas, but in my experience the exclusive first-access closed betas have, typically, even smaller windows of playable time.

When I tested for Stargate Worlds they only had the servers open for 2-6 hours once a week, just to provide some context

Obviously our intent is not to disregard consumers. I think everyone involved on any level with Ghost Recon Online would love for it to be 24/7, but there are many converging factors that prevent us from doing what everyone, including us, would like to do.

But at least it's there so we can all get in a daily dose of GRO

Ya I agree of Chem at least we get some good time most games have like a 2-4 hours play time during closed beta and its only on weekends or for example Tera, every other weekend.

Agreed. I am also in the FireFall closed beta. The server hours for that closed beta for the last couple months have been, Wednesday and Saturday and the play time window was only 4 hours, so I would say be grateful for the time allotted in GR:O.

I've been in closed betas that were only online from 8:00am - 5:00pm EST Monday-Thursday, when everyone is at work. Had to get up a 5am in order to play for 2 hours before work.

So I'm personally thrilled that GR:O is not only online during a decent time slot, but is also online during the weekends.

Remember playing Bunker snipers in Rogue Spear on the MSN Gaming Zone? Yeah, I do too.

I'm completely okay with this, because I have a lot of time to be on the computer.

Can someone tell me what times the game is available in Louisiana? I'm not good at remembering time zones, and I don't know what PDT is.
