Wink Players in GRO need to communicate? Suggesting Mic's only rooms

Hello all notice this post is empty which causes some concern as this is a team based game!

I have played with mostly friendly people throughout phase 1, Dev's and other fellow GRAW lovers. However, at times found myself soloing through the other team, hoping and lining up team mates without communication with them. This tactic takes strong awareness allowing you to use uncommunicative teammates to position themselves where I need them and if there not.Its either going to be a solo push or a methodical and coordinated tactic to utilize my team for advantage without communicating.if this makes sense

When I did hear more then one person communicating, we won simple right? Also improved my gaming experience cause this is what its all about right the user experience! I wouldn't go as far to say force others to work together but maybe creating a room for Mic's only, this will allow players to locate other communicative players, increasing the accessibly to a better user experience.

Just a thought, not looking to make friends just communicate in a tactical fashion to improve my experience with the beta and once the games is out of beta.

I love playing with people who have mics. They usually are better players...however I am not allowed to use a mic (parents). Other people might not be able to afford mics or have access to them. Why separate these people from the people with mics. There is still text chat and I know I use a lot of text chat to relay information.

Personally I couldn't text and play without getting killed a lot more than the a lot more I already do get killed. I think you know what I mean.

As far as the communication is concerned... I would really like an on screen method to see who is talking. I see the blinking lights when someone activates their mic but no name.

A mic is a major benefit for me in the game. I don't spend any time at all looking at who is texting what. That is too much of a delay for me.

Aside from people having/not having mics. I think that the in-game voip should be worked on to improve latency, there are times when I can't properly listen to someone because their voice keeps breaking up. I don't know if its from my side or anything but its something that should be looked at.
p.s vent/rc/ts3 all work fine for me

Also some people using mics are not exactly helpful or even fun to play with as sometimes they just get annoying. There's a mute option but its quite bothersome nonetheless.

A mic is a necessity in ANY team based game. To play otherwise is ridiculous.
HalfLife has had built-in voip for years and years and works fairly well. The mute option, if I recall, is not that bothersome. Unless I am miss-remembering.

I see your point but there's always room for improvement

Hate teammates going CoD style rambo cause they don't know how to communicate and move in a pack.

    both

I run both the VOIP in game which needs some tweaking due to the low volumes of people even if you have them full blast, and run our teamspeak server for those in our party. If we could find reliable people who play then we probably wouldn't worry about the in game talk. Typing is not an issue except trying to remember team or match when you are trying to type without dying. As far as no mic rooms I don't honestly see how that would be a good thing, as not everyone can afford one or to use one, and it would make for the children who like to scream a bit more annoying. I like the fact that I can mute people now I just wish monitors came with a built in mic like laptops do for those who can't buy one. Because honestly even the bad quality you can still make sound good enough to communicate with people. However remember just because we have communications in game doesn't mean people pay attention when you say on your flank or 2 o clock as most I have come across pay no mind until they die and then ask why no one gave them a warning.

I am ecstatic that the voip works as well as it does at this stage. I agree with the importance of communication. What still remains, unfortunately, are people not being constructive and making suggestions to their team other than an occasional chat saying push up. Playing after 10 or 11pm est is great, the majority of people chat it up which is a huge help. Maybe I just need join the cool kids club. I dunno. Sigh.
