    Favorite strats.

    What are some of your favorite strats?

    For me it's rushing C on Metro and taking prone-cover against one of the alcoves there and covering train side with my M96 SV. It's a great way to start a round

    I find using Blitz at the beginning of a round gives the assault a chance to set up first. For instance on metro, rushing with Blitz, I try an reach the middle pillar area of C before the other team can get to the second set of pillars in the room. I then lay prone and try to stay alive at all costs till the point is caped.

    I also use blitz to flank the enemy team on maps like oil rig. Once either A or B is caped, people tend to focus far less on that side of the map. Since their is far less focus on the already caped point, it makes flanking far easier to do. If I decide to do a flank like this off of my respawn, then I tend to use the Blitz right before I get to the already capped point, this not only gives me the speed boast I need to flank faster, but just in case their is a enemy the shield helps denie the kill while you either keep running pass the person because of their positioning, or get out of line of sight.

    You have to divide the opposing team. There always mavericks on every team allowing you to single them out. These mavericks usually have 2 or 1 teammate on their heels so be aware. Gaining power position on underground metro, is pretty simple if you can hold the subway tracks, then divide the opposite side by holding both subway tracks area(loved by recon users) and middle leaving the right to either move forward towards our spawn or get stuck trying to move up or trying to stay alive in the middle. Initial pushes need to be made by strong aggressive players as the tone needs to be set at the start. If you can knock out 2 dudes which then will have them take the walk, this leaves the existing players wondering and out numbered.

    The not to do I feel is evenly moving forward at the start leaving 2 recons on the escalators and no real definitive line or defense.

    Getting behind the enemy and using cover effectively. No really that is it. With cloak it is super easy to get behind the entire other team if they are not paying attention. If you start out close enough and cloak you can get far enough where you can take down 5 or 6 people no problem. The harder part is then finding a good spot to camp after you take them out. You can run back to your team but if you find a good spot ahead of the point that is defensible from people who should try to come kill you but which can also allow you to shoot the enemy in the back again your team should be able to cap the point. Finding good cover also plays into this but if your team is just trying to hold a point finding a spot where people will pass through and you can just pop up or out and shoot them quickly is very important. The "office" area on Moscow City between C and D is one of those. You can hide behind the desk/wall and pop up whenever somebody tries to run down that hall.

    I also like using Blitz early, especially on Moscow if I can make it to under the bridge at point C. if (and only if) my team is anticipating this move it can be devastating, my squad can just steam roll over the bridge.

    I'm giving away my biggest strategy here, but if you've played against me once, you've seen it anyway:

    I charge up Aegis almost immediately when the round starts. (Only the game type -- don't remember the name -- used on Moscow City and Metro.) When I get to Point C, I throw up my bubble and slaughter the opposing team. I usually get about four or five kills at this point before my bubble dwindles and I have to find cover. The bubble also serves to protect my team, however, during this one time at the start of the map, that's my secondary objective. My primary objective is to annihilate the opposing team to 1) let my allies cap the point and 2) inflict terror into my enemies. I believe -- and so do many others -- it's next to impossible to take back C after your opponent has taken it, so making them think it's all over this early in the round ensures our victory.

    As an aside, it's NOT impossible to take back C after your opponent has taken it. A night or two before Phase 1 ended, I was grouped up with Stylez and Fragacide, alongside two or three other of the best players. On the opposing team were the five or sixth OTHER best players of the game. Needless to say, the game was epic. C kept switching hands; first them, then us, then them, then us. It changed control at least four times before the servers shut down for the night.

    Thing is, even if they know it's coming, there's nothing they can do about it! Especially now that AEGIS has been buffed.

    You can melee them, stealth inside the bubble, use heat or blitz, or you can just damage the shield and cause it to pop early. An AEGIS only takes a few shotgun blasts to pop early. I've seen Superhero pop them in a matter of seconds.

    AEGIS has a ton of counters, the problem is that a grenade was simply the most obvious one. Also it's not 100% mitigation, some shots still penetrate the shield. This is why AEGIS has a durability stat. If it was full invulnerability it wouldn't need the stat^^

    You forgot EMP, I found it to be the most annoying of all the counters.


    Edit:

    If you are a Aegis user and you see a teammate start to use their Aegis, Run into their bubble, wait a second or two, then start charging your own Aegis, you should be able to power your Aegis up to full while in your teammates bubble, once your teammates bubble runs out, activate your own bubble.     Daisy-chaining Aegis shields like that can be devastating to the enemy team when pushing into an entrenched area. Takes a lot of coordination, though.
