Changed lag to 0, mastered nine songs

After reading a few of the posts on lag this weekend, I changed my lag to 0 (from 50) yesterday morning. I mastered the chord arrangement of Rebel Rebel on my next play. Tried Angela combo next, I've been struggling with if for quite some time. Didn't get it at first, then I set music volume to 100 and dropped my guitar volume to 55. Mastered Angela.

That was all aIl I had time for yesterday and I spent a few hours with CGeorg playing multiplayer, but then tonight I mastered 7 more songs. These 9 songs were all songs I had previously leveled but had never been able to master despite many attempts. A vast majority of them were chord arrangements.

The video and audio on the replays are now perfectly in sync. They had previously been so far out of sync that I never watched them.

It seems that I am now playing ahead of the note highway, I play the string before the note hits. I really have to concentrate on the audio, that's why I turned the sound of my guitar down so low. If I know the part (or if there's enough time to see the next chord) I'll just close my eyes so I'm not distracted by the video.

Not sure if it matters, but I have a PS3 going directly into a small 25 inch HDTV with HDMI.

Yep, I just made the change tonight, gained about 10k in score on several songs.
My pick-up toggle switch has 3 modes: Swank, Extra Swank, and Super Swank

I assume this is for you HDTV people... I play on a 15 year old tube television, not sure changing the lag will help me any.

Hmm. I would have thought it would be more applicable! Our modern computerized TVs do lots ofprocessing of the the audio and video signals whereas my old analogue TVs didn't. Can't be sure about yours I guess.

I have mine set at 16ms, that's supposed to be the actual video processing delay of my panasonic plasma. I've had no trouble mastering songs.

It should only have to do with moving the notes on the highway. If you're relying on the music for timing and you're using the console's RCA outs to a stereo I wouldn't think it would make a difference.

Aneurysm350, you're correct. CRT's are analog and don't have a processing delay, you should be set to 0.
