Mac OS X Wheel and Controller Support

Fellow Mac gamers —*what are your experiences with different wheels and controllers? I've tried asking Support and they brushed me off and told me to ask here.

    • PS3 Controller?
    • Logitech Driving Force GT?
    • G25?
    • G27?

i'd like to know too. Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 & generic wired gamepad are not recognized. Gamepad drivers are not installed. Even if it used GamePad Companion.app, they have not been recognized.

I'm going to buy Xbox 360 Controller for Windows tomorrow and check whether it works or not. Of course, Xbox360 Mac OS X driver is installed.

Xbox 360 Controller for Windows ( with Tattiebogle Xbox360 driver v.0.11) didn't work on Driver San Francisco for Mac. Even if it used GamePad Companion.app, it has not been recognized.

Guys don't bother with purchasing various controllers to see if they work.
I opened the package from another issue / forum about not having any pointer or mouse controls on the start of the game.
I looked into the input files for the mac version and there are no references to any MAC OSX controller / driver. The only way you can play this game with a mac is with the keyboard and mouse and nothing else plugged into it. The developer and Pactrick Lau only added support for PC XInput which is an emulator for Xboc 360 controllers o nthe windows platform.
Their port to MAC was neglected in this area. Too bad.
I wrote Patrick a letter at his ubisoft address with no response and I informed UBI pf this and they did not repond in kind.
I dont forsee me purchasing any more UBI software nor do I see keeping this game.
But Please don't purchase game companions and other controllers because UBI won't tell you that they didn't build this port with all the necessary MAC definitions.

Im not UBI bashing but UBI needs to realize people spend money and end up spending more money trying to get things to work where if they cam clean it would save everyone a lot of time.
I have saved the specific input definition files incase they decide to finally do a patch and fix this most horrible issue. just so everyone can see it was UBI from the start. IF anyone wants a copy of that file Ill be happy to post with highlights showing the neglect.

I don't hope for many. I hope that key remapper (Gamepad Companion or ControllerMate) comes to work on Driver San Francisco for Mac at least.

Thanks for the detailed info/analysis dagudsun! I indeed bought additional material in order to get this to work and I spent too much time trying to solve this problem. I'm not too happy with the way Ubi coped with this issue and the way support handled my question (basically telling me they just couldn't do anything about it with no further detail). Hope they'll either do a patch soon or will reimburse me fully...

Hi guys, The only supported peripherals are the Apple keyboard and mouse, both wired & wireless.Others may or may not work.

Yes I know. However, it is an issue that even key-remapper (Gamepad Companion, ControllerMate) doesn't work on Driver San Francisco for Mac.
