The Meiji Revolution of 19th century Japan.

I also wouldn't mind a game where we the players could pick the gender. Like, make the game, but with two story lines (one for two different assassins a man and a woman) that still kinda interweave with each other. It's the same events, just from a different perspective, at the end they both team up against the main antagonist(s) who is/are too awesome to take on alone.

Ancient Egypt has been brought up several times and I personally would like to see it.
My top 5 would be (no specific order)
1) Ancient Egypt
2) WW1 Era Germany
3) Middle Ages England (A William Wallace era setting would be awesome - Make Longshanks a Templar)
4) 14th/15th century Japan
5) Ancient Greece? I think this would be interesting if they centered around all the wars that took place back then. Plus it would be one of the first civilizations thus we could delve into an early sight of the order. Perhaps learn it's early origins.

I seen a poll on where people would like to see Assasins creed go in the future, stuff like the Huns, Mongols, French revolution, Alexander the great of Macedonia, etc. I know at some point they will have to start cracking into memories that pre-date the fall of Eden, that seems inevidable. There were the six statues of assasins in the basement of the Villa mansion, it is an idea to develop those stories. Also there is a lot of emphasis on Micholo Polo in revelations. What I want to see is a Shogun game, old school Japan with Ninjas and Samuri.
The way I see it is that it is not specifically that ninjas are assasins and samuri are templars but a blend of both, both sides have ninjas and samuri. I envision that the protagonist would have the abilities of both ninja and samuri, that he can put samuri armour on, which disadvantages him in agility and speed, that he cannot run as fast or jump as far or high, but he woud have combat advantages, that he can handle a strait up confrontation with enemies better. He would be able to take more damage and inflict more damage than he would in ninja mode, due to his armour and samuri sword. In ninja mode he can outrun and jump everyone, he is more dependant on stealth and infiltration.
My brother suggested a third outfit for blending, that he can move around in public without raising suspicion, whereas in a ninja or samuri outfit, guards would be more alarmed by him, especially dressed as a ninja.
But as someone said, ninjas may be a bit of a cop-out, considering the overall resemblence the assasins have with ninjas in the first place, it may be a little cliché, but Japanese history has its interesting moments, as does the Chinese. The Polos explored the east and perhaps they could be featured in it, with story covering both the Chinese and Japanese of that era. To find an appropriate era you would have to research to see which era has stand out personalities to incorporate into the story, as they did with Da Vinci and Machiavelli.

I've recently been to Saltzurg, and had the chance to witness the majesty of the Hohensalzburg Fortress... while I was there I suddenly realized it would be a perfect frame for a future installment of the Assassin's Creed franchise!!
Austrian courts and castles, as well as moody streets and cathedrals, ripe with shadows and intrigue... maybe something set during the golden days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire...
Wow, that would be fantastic!

Speaking as someone who has recently seen the new Sherlock Holmes I would love to see a 19th century London based game and who knows maybe kill Jack the Ripper. Either that or Enlightenment era China.
