Hello all,

So far in my experience of playing GRO I have encountered many problems and situations that need to be dealt with/ Removed

Here goes:
- Detected by oracle, this system seems to give players too much of an advantage and basically a 'Built in wall hack' as people have said.
- Snipers... Too many snipers Why do people think that sniping is the best thing possible? its not, it comes in handy in some situations but this isn't Call Of Duty and we don't want them kids coming in and ruining this game.
- Matchmaking level system. Im level 3 assault I have had a rough outlook of this game so far, and i have been in a game with the FcT Clan twice in a row, these guys are extremely ridiculous at the game and i do not match their skill level. It would be very nice to have a level matchmaking system to balance out the teams before it starts and so that people like me (LVL 3) end up in a game with FcTWarrior (LVL 24), its silly, they have better weapons and armour etc... unfair advantage is silly.
- Constant 'dolphin diving', I have witnessed tons of people just going around diving infront of you and before you have a chance to break cover or look at them they have already shot you up the bum.

I know it is only closed beta but these are obvious points.
Another thing to mention would be the fact that everyone gets red bar connection all the time, making it harder to hit with bullets.

I love being a sniper but I have to agree that tonight, for the fourth night I've played, there were too many snipers per game and there was no one to really go in and attack so when our team was up against a group of assault classes who were obviously organised (perhaps with VOIP on) we were destroyed.

However, and to go against your beef, I hate Call of Duty because it's all running around and jumping while shooting whereas the TC games feel much more tactical and closer to reality; I'm far from being a kid, and I love playing a sniper and playing a sniper as a sniper is. I don't think it's fair to have a go at snipers, perhaps it's better to even out the games more, after all snipers can stop a game from being a run around shotgun fest a la CoD.

Having just read some of the other posts there's an anti-sniper feeling and what I do hope is that the snipers aren't made too weak, already I'm finding there are a couple of maps where I'm struggling to find the sense of being a sniper, or recon as we're called in the game as we're only a sniper with the sniper rifle equipped, plus I have to say the majority of classes taking me out tonight were not other snipers they were specialists and assault classes so it doesn't feel as uneven from under the hood as some are saying on the forums.

I completely agree about the sniper issue, I was in a game where I was Specialist, we had another assault and the rest were snipers. The other team were all snipers except for one specialist. It can make for some annoying matches. I really hope the game doesn't become one big sniper fight as I am really enjoying it for the most part.

I believe this game is supposed to mimic the tactics of urban warfare that the America's armed forces use. The solution to this Sniper problem is obvious. The game is build around two teams of four men. If the game could dictate the specific roles in those teams thus restricting the use of sniping.

The server can open slots to those that fill an available role or give the user the chance to switch roles to meat the needs of the team. After all isn’t this about team work?

I think the main reason for the recon overload is the cloke aspect, i love to cloke with a smg and then bang.

I'm not trying to troll, but I think the anti - sniper sentiment is missing the point.
There are counter measures for each class and ability. If that sniper is constantly taking you out, rush him with Blitz and make him eat shield, or whichever class you use.
Sure, if both teams consist of recons alone, then it's a stale mate. The clock will run out and game over.

Too many players are coming to this with the FPS stats obsession, ( K/D ratio, etc. ), and not a team mentality.
The feeling of a victory when you've really worked as a team to earn it, far surpasses a big K/D in my opinion.

Sorry MajorCasualty - I disagree. Your play style sounds like the antithesis of recon. It's fine to hang back and take out some snipers at the start, but Recons need to use the whole class, and help capture points by being up with the team.

I play assault and specialist and frequently find myself alone, trying to cap a point while the rest of the team is being " useful ", back near the spawn going for headshots.
There is a reason you have an SMG.

In the end, people will play whatever class they like. I'm not here to say , " No Recons ", just play the class to its full potential and be a team player.

I prefer recon. The main attraction to this class for me, like most players, was the cloak. But this is to be expected when so many of us are waiting on Future Soldier, and it's biggest and most widely focused upon selling point is the cloak. Learning it would feature in GRO was a great opportunity to test it before FS. So maybe bump the level requirements for access to cloak and oracle a little higher instead of having them almost immediately available so early in. This might incentivise others who are keen to get a cloak to get more involved with the team.

Or make cloak available to all classes.

I also really like the idea of forcing the configuration of teams. This will certainly reduce the recon torrent and would be preferable to matchmaking levels. Particularly if your friends are a different level than you, and you only want to play some matches with friends.

Lastly, my all time favourite in game weapons are knives and claymores. Can we expect these to be added?

I share the same fear of lobby-patches, snipers are usefull, but you have to adapt them to the environment more then other classes.
I find it hard to play the sniper like it should be done so i prfered to run this class as a close range ganking-machine to kill off pinned down enemy with my SMG, actually a pretty good choice i think, makes a lot of fun, feels good and helps the team in a neat way.

You already encountered the guys of the FcT? Well, play with them! They are some great french boys and I love playing with them, because they play as a team.
Don't judge them because they have a higher lever, instead you should judge the match maker, because it doesn't chooses player with the same LVL.
Another option would be to create server with different ranges of LVLs. Like one server for players from LVL 1 to 10, the next from 10 to 15 and so on....
And FcTWarrior is a great guy!
