What? No matter what happened, there'll be no AC3 in 2013. Ubisoft confirmed AC3 is the last of the yearly releases.
in interview with somebody who worked on acr (not alex) they said it wasen't sure if they would do more yearly releases.
but what about my question did they joined the ac3 team?

I know that Alex Amancio left almost immediately after Revelations was released.

Not only AC2, but also AC1.
No one knows what happened to the team that worked on Brotherhood and Revelations. Some key members did work on all games (AC3, Brotherhood, and Revelations), whether it is gameplay or story continuity.
Last time I checked, Amancio did say that they were planning to take a break after AC3, but dunno how true that is now. After all, they did create a new engine for AC3.

The team that worked on AC 1 and AC 2 broke off after AC 2 came out to work on AC III while the others did Brotherhood and Revelations.
