Headshots and Scoped Accuracy while being shot.

    Hey all Closed Beta Players!

I just had a question concerning the Head Shots system, and the accuracy maintained while a bullet hits you while still scoped.

What do you guys think that shooting people in the face with an Assault rifle (Let alone any gun.) isn't a 100% kill?

Also, How do you guys feel when you peg that sniper that's aiming you down with 2 bullets, and he still manages to always get that head shot off of you despite being shot twice. (Note that you are being shot with let's say... two 5.56 Nato rounds off a Assault Rifle that shoots 900 m/s, which is roughly 2000 mph.) You would expect that sniper to flinch, maybe twitch that scope and it'd be harder to aim. Or worst, Getting that headshot off that sniper, but it not being counted so he'll kill you instead.

I honestly think that Sniper Rifles do not need a nerf in the damage. My honest opinion I think it is pretty silly how they shrug off bullets while scoped.

If they made either headshots 100% kill, or lowered the shrug off while being zoomed in. I'm sure people would complain alot less.

    Feel free to comment. =p

Having played quite a bit of sniper, I think that even while scoped in, the kick of being shot is pretty huge, although I could be wrong because I don't spend much time scoped in (I only scope in when my target is properly in position to die).

I'm talking if you just had moved into position, and a non sniper is aiming you down, as you raise up from cover to take the shot, and while doing that you get shot once or twice. =x

I've just had that happen so much for me, and also it makes me extremely sad when I happen to get a headshot off the sniper.

(I use the MK 16 SV (Sniper Variant.))

You know, it might be an excellent (needed) nerf to lying prone if taking damaged shook your screen a lot and it took longer for your sight to stabilize.

That, and Coming out of cover to fire. I agree with you 100%. Don't nerf the sniper class alone, Just balance a simple mechanic in the game. I think all classes should have that same effect.

If it were my suggestion I'd say 50% of your handling when in cover. So if, after sprinting, it takes you 1.2 seconds to raise your weapon, that penalty should be 0.6 while in cover. Still fast, but enough of a lag as to eliminate the insta-pop shot. Every class can currently do this. You just adjust your aim to where it will be when you pop out of cover. It's not broken, per se, but it could be improved to promote better, more tactical gameplay.

    Just my $0.02.

Headshot hitboxes need tweaking though. I walked up behind a guy who wasn't moving anywhere, and it took me ~4 rounds with my pistol (very carefullly aimed) to headshot him, at which point he would have died from damage anyway.

    Was he crouched or prone?

Next time, snag some video (if you can) and report it in the technical forum.

Also, If you're shooting an assault that has a ton of health, Headshots with a pistol do pisspoor damage still. =(
