Thread: Mouse pointer issue on Driver San Francisco for Mac | Forums

  1. #21
I've got an ATI Radeon HD 4670 - 256 Mo at home (which doesn't match the VRAM requirements).

    I'll try on a Nvidia 512 Mo soon !

EDIT : in response to the "sousuke_c" video
I've tried all screen resolutions with no difference :
the mouse is still working, but at nearly the half-distance from the up-left corner.
Try to "escape" from the game in the menu panel (F4 - widgets) to regain your pointer, and move your mouse somewhere between the items and the apple corner.

Ok, yes, most of us here can launch the game, the problem lies with doing anything after that. There is not movement of mouse, keyboard arrows or logitech. If you can't launch the game then that seems to be a different issue and you should report it as well.

    Driver Package Contents

Interstingly enough because Im tired of waiting for uBI to do anything about this. I jumped into the package contents to see if anything stood out.
Under Contents and Resources and Input there are 5 sub folders.
    Each with a HEX folder name ( 0x044f - 0xb653) etc.
Opening each of those sub folders there are asset of txt files with input definitions.

Strange Item number 1 : The definitions header all say Frontend Control definitions - PC XInput
Scrolling through each of the secants within a file show PC Input and possible Xbox input but no mention of a MAC Input
So the front end definition for controls = PC XInput)
THe Simulation control definitions - Xbox 360
The visual Controls definitions = PC XInput
The Replay control definitions = PC
And the DEvelopment control definitions = PC

Its this way for every file in every subfolder for this input section.

I havent coded in a long time but it seems as if they ported this over without adjusting the input definitions to MAC OS
Which would explain the non responsiveness at the game start menu.

I can almost assure you that this is the problem because the same txt files are copied over in the 5 subfolders and I just spotted my first "ini" file
Macs don't use ini files thats windows registry based text.

One last thing to confirm my suspicions :
PC XInput = XInput is a relatively new API to the DirectX SDK set of APIs (it was introduced in the December 2005 update). It handles communication with the Xbox 360 common controller when connected to a PC. When developing for the Xbox it also handles other input methods and I expect in the future it will replace DirectInput on the PC

Again, clearly a PC config for Xbox controller emulators.
We who purchased the DMG for Driver San Francisco for MAC OSX have gotten a port that left behind PC configurations for input....

Thx Guytantakul, video cards don't seem to be the cause.
