a lot tbh..
Thanks for digging up the thread, since it needs addressing.
The reported co-op mode, was a mistake by Xbox - they made an error in the listing - which was reported by news sites..
Xbox removed the error.. Yet still people assumed it was a "leak" - not matter how much it was said it could be an error..
People still assume its a game mode in the game...
(official statement) ACIII does not feature a co-op mode, never has.
I don't like pointing fingers at people for being wrong, but as always only game modes officially announced, should be believed to be in the game.
This was answered a few weeks back by the Dev team, so it's not being "swept" under any carpets - just people assumed wrongly.

Unfortunately, that doesn't explain the "guild" system that was announced as a new feature that was coming out in ACR, and got swept under the rug post-release.
And I have to mention...
You're aware co-op is a type of multiplayer, right?
What OD said. Guilds were talked about for AC:R. Which is released. With no sign of any guilds...
My assumptions about AC3 only go as far as "I'll have to kill targets and avoid pursuers".
I can't answer why guilds were removed from an older title, but many design choices are made throughout a games development.
It's common for features to be removed or added, while the game is under development.
Its a fact of life, that games do change - some are completely re written and re designed - such as GRFS.
Not to drag the thread off topic, but it's a fact that people need to accept, not all ideas make the final game.
I'm 100% sure that it will be regular co-op missions and there will only be about 5 missions just like BF3. nothing exciting.
I'm 100% sure you didn't read the whole thread.
Usually ideas that are talked about in promotional pre-release interviews don't get completely scrapped, though. And when they do, there's usually some sort of mention made of that removal/change before release. In this case, we were hearing about "guilds" being included during E3 last year, and in a couple of the later gaming events that showed up, then closer to release, people asking for more specific details about these features were told to wait and see. It was "we're not talking about specifics" when it should have been "we're not doing that any more" - preferably with at least some kind of explanation or reason why not. Unless they cut those features post-beta, in which case, it STILL should have been mentioned before release, since many clans were expecting that as an advertised feature of the game, and not including it could technically (as with a few other things ACR did wrong) open the door for lawsuits in some regions.
Fortunately, if there have been any such complaints, they haven't gone public, which is good for Ubisoft.
RE-EDIT: Fixed. Never mind.
