Thread: Rocksmith displays incorrectly on my TV | Forums

Exclamation Rocksmith displays incorrectly on my TV

My problem is simple, the solution apparently not so simple. When I'm on the Main Menu the pictures horizontal length is fine, but the vertical length is stretched for some reason. While I'm at the Main Menu, the words Main Menu are partially cut off and so is my gamertag. On the bottom of the screen, SELECT, AMP, and BACK are also partially cut off. If I could I would post a photo but I don't have a way to do that.
My console is an Xbox, and my television is a Vizio. Anybody else hear of these problems? In-game doesn't have screen adjustments, and my TV isn't the issue. All my other games display normally. I contacted Ubisoft support and got a lame response asking if my CD was scratched and that my disc drive could be functioning incorrectly... Neither are an issue.

Fortunately the game runs great and I'm enjoying it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps you could describe your set up a bit more. Cables, connections, settings?

Sounds like your TV may be in a 'Zoom' or specific '16x9' or something like that.
There should be an option to set the TV to 'direct' or 'One to One' or something like that, which will just take the signal it gets from the xbox and not muck with it, just keep things 1:1

It just sounds like it is adding an overscan of sorts when in the menu (which I assume is just a lower resolution than the main 'game' when playing a song)

Depending on your model, your Vizio should have an option to adjust how the wide screen displays (it's different depending on your input type) but what you want to look for is an aspect ratio setting, something with 'normal' 'wide' 'stretch' etc as options. Try each one until it looks right. Hope that helps!

    Me too

I have the same problem with my Panasonic plasma tv. I toggled thru the aspect ratio / zoom setting, but nothing seems to work. Luckily it's just slightly cut off, and I'm used to it. Still - I would like to have it fit properly.

maybe try the display options on your xbox? [under system settings , and then under console settings] there are some options for hd tvs and wide screens that may be messing with your aspect ratio if set incorrectly

I already tried all possible options with my TV and Xbox. I just got a new copy of the game and sent the old one back to Amazon to rule out the disc being the problem. Support says it's my Xbox disc tray.. which doesn't make any sense to me. Nothing is wrong with any of my other games.

YourNameIsWild, if you figure out anything, be sure to let me know.

Edit: My Vizio does have settings to adjust the image within the display and that doesn't work. As for my setup I'm just using some old RGB cables plugged into COMP 1. Maybe my problem is that I'm not using HDMI cables..? I'll have to pick some up and try that ..

Same problem here. Bottom of screen is cut off no matter what settings I adjust, t.v. and xbox... I have my Xbox connected to my T.V. (73 in. Mitsubishi hd) via component cables to avoid the well known audio lag. This does not affect my practice (play) experience. I think Rocksmith should be endorsed by every professional guitar player out there. I can totally understand why Musicians wanted nothing to do with those other "musical instrument" games, but Rocksmith on the other hand, in my opinion, cannot be denied the fact that it absolutely works and should be encouraged by all musicians of any level of playing ability.

@ Stephen---HDMI cables are definitely not going to help being that is what , directly or indirectly, causes the audio lag.

    Unhappy

I have exactly the same problem as well.
Still no answers? I love the game but it is frustrating to get ripped off of the titles for every screen.
So it is strictly Xbox, not a TV thing, Not a bad CD problem.
Please Ubisoft, Your my only hope.

    Hello,
    Have you tried this?

If it still doesn't work please try contacting Ubisoft Support via the link in my signature.
    Thanks
