Exclamation Please! I Need Help Installing the H.A.W.X. 2: Stealth Bundle!

Hi everyone. Back in December I purchased and downloaded the Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2: Stealth Bundle from UBIShop.com, and ever since then I've been going round and round with Ubisoft Support regarding a bizarre problem I have when trying to install the friggin' thing. Anyway, I'm here because it got dizzying having to keep re-explaining the problem I'm having and them giving me the same set of solutions that don't work (I swear they don't read my replies before they post a response).

Anyway, the problem I'm having is when I attempt to install the game, it thinks it's already installed! "Play" and "Uninstall" are highlighted so I can click them, but because the game is not really installed, nothing happens (obviously). Likewise, "Install" is dimmed out and un-selectable. The only things I've been able to do successfully, is buy it, download it, and register it. This is driving me nuts! Has anyone else encountered this problem and know how to fix it?

The only thing I can think of that might be the cause, or somehow linked to this issue, is that sometime ago I purchased and downloaded the standard version of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 as well as the Open Skies DLC from Steam. It was installed for a very short period of time and I played it briefly maybe once or twice. I uninstalled it and the DLC shortly afterward, though. So naturally, it doesn't show up in the Uninstall Programs list in the Control Panel, but I wonder if it might have something to do with the problem I'm having installing the Stealth Bundle version. Please help!

    My PC's Specs:
    Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium
    8GB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM
ATi Radeon HD 5750 Graphics Card
AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.60 GHz Processor
    1TB HDD

Press start, search for regedit and run it, and delete all registry entries of the game. Ensure you back up the registry first.

That was one of the first things the Ubisoft Support rep suggested I do. The problem was the file path he mapped out for me to check doesn't exist on my PC, and I still can't find any files that have to do with H.A.W.X. 2. What made things worse was that he wouldn't go back and clarify when I inquired about it. *ugh*

Anyway, you want me to look for registry files regarding the standard version of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 which I downloaded from Steam, correct? Would you be able to give me directions on where I would find them in my registry? That would be greatly appreciate because I can't find anything regarding H.A.W.X. 2 in there. I'm not even sure I would recognize them if I saw them (a lot of files are just numbers and letters). Please keep in mind I'm using Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Edition. In the meantime, I'll ask around on the H.A.W.X. 2 Steam forums.

I don't know how to backup (or restore) my registry should anything go wrong, either. I'll have to look for instructions.

Hi, your best bet would be to contact Steam Support https://support.steampowered.com/ who would be able to walk you through. This guide here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/w...p-the-registry shows you how to back up the registry.

Okay, after going back and forth with the Steam Support Center and them having me try a myriad of different things, we couldn't fix the problem and they ended up directing me back here for support.

I'm getting extremely frustrated now. First I'm going back and forth with the Ubisoft Support Center (which was stressful enough), then the Steam Support Forums, then Ubisoft Support Forums, then the Steam Support Center, now I'm back at the Ubisoft Support Forums... I'm starting to think I'm never going to get this freak'n game installed and all I did was waste money - and I bought this game almost four months ago. Can anyone help me?

I think there are defiantly remnants left behind in the registry. I know you have contacted Ubisoft Support before but please do so again explaining all steps you have taken as they can walk you through the troubleshooting. Thank you for your patience.

You could also try an uninstaller such as Revo http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Okay, I'll give it another try. I will check out that uninstaller, too.

    Thanks for the prompt response.
