    Mission V frame rates

Hi All. I have been downloading a couple of missions from Airwarfare recently, and well done to the people who put these together. I thought after the first couple of COD patches that my rig was now handling most aspects of COD fairly well.

Downloaded mission [ 10th July 1940 version v1 ] German bombers and escorts attack convoy near Dover, because this mission has so many aircraft in the air at one time, I was finding it almost impossible to play, my rig could not coup with that amount of data.

Intel core, 2 quad 2.40 GHz
    4G ram
Gigabyte GTX overclocked 570 graphics card
    Windows 7 64bit

I thought that my specs would be fine now, but apparently not,So check before downloading. There is a recent post by Chivers that says that a patch is not far off that addresses this frame problem.

    Cheers. JM.

my first guess is it's the clouds that are doing this- cod's particle effects really hit fps badly. The much vaunted patch hopefully will help in this regard.

One thing you could do (if feeling brave
) is to edit the mission file and remove the clouds. This isn't actually that difficult- just make sure you have a backup of the files
Assuming you are flying the UK version, you need to open the .mis file "UK_10_july.mis" using notepad. Scroll down to the bottom where you will find a section at the bottom marked "[WeatherFront]"- delete all of this section and SAVE (not save as!)

Go fly minus clouds (and with better fps hopefully)- however it will not be quite as the mission designer intended.

    good luck
