    SH5 new installation - "Log in failed"

    I just bought SH5 the other day (since the price is right and DRM is gone). After creating a new account here and launching the game, I get the "Log in failed" message through the launcher. I thought it was related to the server migration, but I still get this message despite UBI indicating that the servers are fully migrated and everything is working.

    Launcher settings are:
    Proxy = auto
    Save game = X (enabled) - (will disable this after getting online once)
    Sound = unchecked
    Offline Mode = unchecked

    The actual orange box error message that I get is:
    "Log In Failed!
    You need to log in online at least once before playing offline. If you have logged in on this computer before, check your username/password."

    I checked my log in name and even requested a new password to make sure, but to no avail.

    Anyone have any idea if my problem is related to the migration or to something else, and how to correct it?

    thanks ..

    Problem solved by opening router ports

    Found the solution in another unrelated thread and forum (Settlers).

    The problem was resolved opening the following ports on the router:

    9103, 9100, 10196 (UDP outbound/inbound)
    80, 3081, 3105 (TCP outbound)
    22350 - 22380 (TCP inbound)

    No problem!

    It's one reason why I did it. I can't count how many posts there are where someone says "I fixed it", but doesn't say how, or they find a fix, but don't return at all.

    Have a good one!
