On the "disabled spells bug" in necro campaign
This has been briefly mentioned in the buglist threads, but I was hoping to get some more info or discussion on it. I'll start with what I know about it:
In the necropolis campaign, there seems to be an issue where several spells / abilities stop functioning. Specifically, the buttons in the interface (or spellbook) become greyed out (disabled). The abilities that seem to be affected are: mass life drain, regeneration, necromancy rank 2 (while rank 1, 3 and 4 work fine) and possibly others. I've read people saying the cause of this is the arena buildings that are found on these maps. After winning an arena battle, an ability seems to disable by itself, with additional abilities breaking with each arena visit. It might also be related to other buildings. Once an ability is disabled, it does not come to life again in the whole campaign. This only counts for the primary hero (Anastasya), secondary heroes are still able to use the broken spells just fine.
I've experienced this personally, and it's been the most noticable bug in my MMH6 experience so far. I'm curious if other players are experiencing this aswell, and if there's anything to be done (besides wishing and waiting for additional patches). Right now I've chosen to avoid the arena battles alltogether, even though I'm missing out on 6 or more stat points by doing so. Is there anything more I can do, or do you guys have any additional info on this?
You can fight in arenas safely. Just don't use quick combat.
Thanks, but that can't be entirely accurate. I've done several fights in arenas manually, and afterwards I've seen necromancy and regeneration becoming broken. Anyone know exactly how the bug works, and what players should do to avoid problems?

I've now finished map 3 of the necro campaign, skipping several arenas, but I'm encountering them again in map 4. I think I'll try beating these again when I have the army strength, and I'll report back on my findings.
Same bug encountered here (mass life drain spell lost after arena, no diff. id quick comb. or manual fight).
Playing the necro campaign on HOMM 1.4 ver and I´m pretty much annoyed by this kind of negligence.
The whole point of being UNdead and using its advantages is lost ´cause of this bug.
Edit: Recently I discovered that when doing the re-specialization of a main hero the spells again work!
