    Unlimited torpedos possible?

May the diehard realism faction please overlook this request. That said, it would be nice when breaking in a new player or just showing off the beauty of SH4 to a guest to be able to carry on beyond the realistic torpedo load-out. If i could do it myself it would be great. Is that difficult or possible or hard coded in the executable? Thanks for any consideration, JL.

Welcome JL_COG. Don't worry, I'm not a die hard realist, though I try to play as real as I possibly can. I know you can choose unlimited fuel, oxygen and one or two other items, but I don't believe that applies (unfortunately) to torpedoes. Still, some of the other members might be able to guide you through a scripting/programming cheat that'll have you spittin' torps like the Terminator with a Minigun.
    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Second patrol in my brand new Unterwasserboot, early may 1944: Recon Sidney harborFull throttle from Batavia to Rabaul, used all torpedoes to sink five vessels:Liberty cargo 7171 tonsPort Moresby raidSmall Split Freighter 2430 tonsCostal Composite Freighter 1853 tonsCostal Composite Freighter 1853 tons T3 11336 tonsOne T3 tanker got away after my last three torpedoes refused to sink her,Total = 24643 tons Diesel ammount left = 3 unitsRefueled in Rabaul and went south at 12 knots pace, not 10-11, thanks to my engine expert. I had done the usual torpedo refit trick, loaded the tubes with the best of a wide range of goods available and refitted again. Ten hours south of Rabaul, a target came into my path, a T3 tanker on its own.Obviously I didn’t want to use my homing torpedo arsenal on an unprotected tanker, but had to remove a T IV Falke torpedo in order to rearrange my tubes. It was a stern hit 2.6 meter below the waves, could see a small flame and some smoke, the ship slowed down but turned away from my stationary position. Now I thought it was going to be easy, I rushed out two T III electric torpedoes at magnetic 10.7 meters settings, one after the other they both detonated beautifully, resulting in a stationary tanker.Okay, perhaps one more for good measures.Torpedo is a dud, sir!Torpedo is a dud, sir!Torpedo is a dud, sir!... but the seventh torpedo finished off this barbiturate encounter.Needless to say, I went straight back to Rabaul, this ridiculous incident stole over 30 hours and added more frustration gained after my quick but shamefully poor journey from Batavia.Do I want unlimited torpedoes? no

I was hoping for a way to play with a modification that could be implemented and disabled as desired. A mod or script using that special mod tool someone made. It would be nice to let one of the younger set have a go in a saved game harbor full of targets with lots-o-torps at their disposal. Not even suggesting anyone change their own preferences.

As an aside. where IS that carrier we are supposed to sink hiding?

you referring to "wounded bear"? (aka shokaku) still havent found it either. ive heard speculation that its near the sulu sea. a little general i know. if you search the forum, theres a thread pertaining to this somewhere here, or maybe it was the "other" sub site? id be shocked if youtube didnt reveal its location either, although i have no idea if its random or not.

campaign, just keep refitting @ port and then you have unlimited fishies, and diesel too. no need for a separate mod! thats my lazy solution anyway.

    Take position at 123°30'E 6°00'N by 1am on July 12 1942.
Shokaku arrives escorted by 3 destroyers around 2:40am.
    Good hunting!

I can catch her moving at medium speed through the Celebes sea. Go at standard speed and you will get a contact heading through there. I also got chased by an unexpected task force that ended up right over me! Couldnt even get a shot off!
