I wonder if it's significant that Altair's ring finger is removed for use of his concealed blade. I doubt assassins married, therefore probably didn't father too many children. So I wonder if the ancestry link to Ezio and Desmond is more of a Brotherhood thing or actual blood relation. Any thoughts?

They are blood-related. They would have to be. The Animus would not work with Desmond for Altair's memories if the two were not blood-related.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way I wouldn't have to have any god**** stupid useless conversations with anybody. If anybody wanted to tell me something they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. well, men wore it as a matter of choice -- in Ezio's case it is probably a signet ring to seal documents with his family's crest on it to prove identity. so more than just a jewel accessory.

What type of guy? To have children without being "married"? "Marriage" was made up by people. It does absolutely nothing.
