Ok, here I go. First I would like to say that I have looked at a lot of videos made by people that are very creative and they are all labors of love. I would like to start making my own but lack the knowledge on how to do so. If anyone knows of or has a cheat sheet on how a newbie can get started I would be very be grateful for any help. I have some ideas in my head and would really like to see what I can do. All I need is the know how.

The best advice I can give you is to read as much of the questions already asked in this forum. You will find many links to you questions.

I will give you a short state of my way of making movies:

Start your Lock On mission not with the 'Fly' key, but with record mission.
Afther landing or being shot down save the track with an easy name.
Play it again in edit mode, make sure you get no speedbar and so on in your screen, get nice angles of the action.
Than again play the track to see if the edit version has become what you wanted.

You'll need the program 'Fraps' to capture youre images. It makes large avi files.

Than use Windows Moviemaker to import these avi files.

In moviemaker you can edit your film, put some nice music in it.

I always put titels at the beginning and at the end.

Trow in some effects that are in moviemaker prog.

When youre done, save it in an format like wmv.

    Goodluck !

A few links from the IL2 forum about movie making !

    Check Darts tutorial

And for more techy talk pop over to VWC

Should be enough to get you going. Once you get serious, there really isn't any one A-Z I have found. We all use a lot of different techniques. But reading this forum and VWC is usually the best.

And if you have a specific question, chances are it has already been asked and answered, just use the lil' ol' search button
