I have touched 1 thru 4 journey cloths in Eder Gira and Eder Kemo. I linked back to Relto with the linking book on my side. When I returned to Eder Gira and Eder Kemo. I returned to the second journey cloth. I was under the impression, as I was playing the game, that you would return to the last journey cloth touched. Is this not correct or am I under an illusion? Is this how that game is played from this point one? An inquiring mind wants to know.

Odd. By design, the last JC touched is the point to where you link into. It is that way all through the game.
Is it possible that you may have touched the second and forgotten?
Just a thought. . . . Which book are you linking with? Maybe your more recent cloth is in the other book? It does take you to the last one touched, but in Eder Gira and Kemo they each have their own books, so each has it's own "last"

You are indeed correct.
If you go to the first page in front of the any of the books in your library and touch the cloth you should be returned to the last journey cloth you found and touched.
You may have had a glitch, touch another and try again.

It sounds like DeeDee.Bee hit it right on. If you leave Eder Gira after touching a cloth, and link back to Eder Kemo, you'll link to the last cloth touched in Eder Kemo, not Eder Gira.
Thanks to Whitch 2, DeeDee.Bee, Zymmin, Heuris for your insightful replys. I was unaware of the two different linking books for EDER Gira And EDER Kemo. Are these two linking books located in the hut on Relto?
In answer to the glitch, I needed to have my video card driver updated prior to restarting the game. Before I updated the driver, I had gone all the way through all the ages, was getting ready to begin the end game when I linked back my computer rebooted and I lost my saved game as well as my avatar info. I was upset about that.
In answer to question about having forgot to touch the journey cloths in sequence, I make sure that I have touched the cloth a least twice when I located them in the ages.
Thank you all for your replies and I hope and pray the the Myst Series with live on, because I have enjoyed playing all the games. My wife picked up the DOS version of Myst Island when we purchased a computer with a new technology called a CD-ROM. As you can see, I have been a fan of Myst and the D'ni for a long time.
An easy way to know which book is for what is to flip the page from the journey cloth to the first photo link. That picture is the starting point of the age. Click on the lower part of the page that has the lower corner folded over to turn the page. Some linking books have several links in them but I think the age books have only the journey cloth link and the age start link. Hope this helps.

Yes. When you first link to Eder Gira, the lava age, from the book in the pillar on Relto you get a bright pink Eder Gira book. When you then find the linking book to Eder Kemo and use that, a green Eder Kemo book appears beside it on your Relto shelf. They are two linked ages, but each book will only take you back to the one age you pick. So the Gira book will take you to the last cloth touched in Gira, and the Kemo book will take you to the last cloth touched in Kemo.
Thank you all for your insight and knowledge about this fabulous game. I will look for the other linking book and continue on my journey through this final age. On to the endgame
