    From Wii Cafe:

A brief chat with a local Nintendo rep led me to some interesting new facts - most notably that Nintendo is hard at work on Animal Crossing for the Wii (no surprise there, but it's good to know it's coming). I didn't get too many details from the guy, but what I can tell you is that it will most definitely be online enabled, just as its DS counterpart was and GameCube counterpart should have been. As far as classic games that were included in the original, no official decision has been made yet as to if they'll be the Wii version. The coolest little bit of info was the fact that the game will actually connect into your Forecast channel so that the game's weather will actually reflect what's going on outside. No release date was specified, but the rep I talked to expected that we should be getting it at some point this year.
It sounds like a very cute idea to use the weather forecast system. It means rainy days are the best ones to stay inside catching fishes!

I wonder how Sims Wii will cope, since it's looking very much like a Simimal Crossing based on its screenshots.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Sounds really cool. I can't wait to hear more about that game. I've loved the Animal Crossing games & online sounds cool, especially since I never ended up playing Wild World online.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah, this is really exciting, considering I am still hooked on my Animal Crossing DS game. I heard a rumor, actually, that they may incorporate the miis into the game, as your playable character. Which would be cool, because I SO want to have my Zach Braff mii move in to my town.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That will be great. I still play animal crossing on my gamecube sometimes. Anyone here remember the hilarious commercials?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yes. In fact, I have some Nintendo promotional DVD that I got around that time which has a bunch of trailers on it & it has all of those commercials.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

    Very cool.

Sounds like they've got a really neat idea, for Animal Crossing on the Wii. I look forward to trying it out.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Oh man... all those people who live in the northwest are going to have such an easier time catching the good fish! ****!

Maybe I'll set my zip code to be somewhere up there... it rains like every day right?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
