Trog, keep in mind that for some of us it ISN'T free. Really, the question is why the response HERE isn't the default "maintenance" message for the game itself. The web server's been back for 7.5 hours. Communication == good!

As long as subscriptions and any potential newbie protection are likewise extended, it's a reasonable fix.
