Corrupt Save Game on Xbox - HELP! | Forums

Hey guys. I'm stuck in a situation where I've somehow corrupted my save game, and I was really hoping someone would be able to help me get around this.

So, I'm exactly 33% through the game. I got to the level called "The Baths" and finished the big fight leading into the area. I think it's the area that matches the second spot in the demo. And, if it matters, at the end of my fight, I used the "Mega Freeze" for the first time to kill everyone off. I hadn't used it before, so it still gave me the info text about it.

After the fight, I ran up the steps and drank some water from the bath pool, and then got my "vision." Now, this is weird. Farah had been with me, but she wasn't with me at this point. I didn't see her actually leave me before the big fight. But right before I got my vision, I heard The Prince say, "Now you understand." Then, after the vision, I heard him say, "I'm alright." And, I heard Farah say, "I know." She still wasn't anywhere around.

I kept running on after this, and when I got about 15 seconds farther into the game, it just said I died. I was at full health. I didn't fall. I was confused, but I went with the retry option. Now, 2 seconds later, I just died. Again and again and again...I just died.

At this point I completely powered off my Xbox and reloaded the save game. Same thing. I just died. No matter what direction I move in. No matter what I try to do. I die. I've tried getting the vision again immediately. I've tried rolling into the water. I've tried jumping. I've tried pulling my sword. I've tried running up the wall. I die.

Has anyone else run into this situation? If so, have you been able to get past it? I really don't feel like playing through the first 3 hours of gameplay again. Maybe if I'm looking for secrets or something...but I was enjoying the hell out of the game. This really ruins it for me.

If nothing else, I'd like to recommend that everyone playing this game keep several save games. I had no others. I was re-saving into the same slot, over and over, so I have no old save games to go back to.

This sucks.

You should have thought about that before you strated saving over the other checkpoints. If you notice, there are 42 slots (xbox version) to save to. Seems like a strange number, doesn't it? Splinter Cell (xbox) give you three. If you were given 42 slots to in, why would you use only one of them? I bet you'll start using all of the slots if you have to start over.

This has just happened to me on the PS2. But I am 75% the way through. The save level is called "On the Ramparts" I had killed all the monster there then started running to the sand cloud on the left hand side then I was forcfully taken to the Retry/quit screen. So, I retried and beat the monsters again but this time I went straight to the save point that spawns after the fight. Once saving (over top my last one) I try for the sand cloud and it takes me back to the retry/quit screen again.

Now, after loading or retrying the game many times. It keeps taking back to that retry/quit. Each time the character saya "no no no, that didn't happen.. shall I start again."

Again, I am with Sigmund68k, if anyone knows how to get past this blocker(showstopper) bug, any info would be helpful.

If not please alternate saving in slots when you play.(just in case) Unfortunaly I didn't..
