Hi!
Could someone please give me a unbiased view of the multiplayer.
Is there enough players to really play this game? (PC version)
Thanks a lot guys!

There's plenty of players.
It's not the number of players that is the problem. It's the fact that the dedicated server program is bare bones and doesn't work for High Stakes mode. Playing on games that are hosted by the player is pretty much a joke as the lag is horrible (except for the host of course) regardless of the hosts setup. So yea there is plenty of players but finding a good game with minimal lag isn't easy.

i doubt the lag probs will get better,as ubi servers, are located in Montreal (Canada), im in UK,other player's who join are from Europe,uk ,ect, hence the lag, they should of used a similar idea as activisions call of duty 4 or have more server locations in different countries then providing every one had a reasonably fast connection no lag
I haven't checked for servers in some time so just ran a search.
It appears that all Trinity servers are now non-existant.
If I remember correctly, it seems I read that Trinity furnished at least some of Ubisoft's server's, so now Ubisoft has also dumped them.
At 7:15 PM Wednesday night there are:
31 versus servers total!
14 total players in 6 of those servers.
25 servers empty!
The most players in one server was 4!
38 T-Hunt servers
21 with open slots!
7 Story servers!
3 waiting for someone to join!

Lag has nothing to do with the UBI servers, they are merely there to login into the game. Lag is effected by the server host and users connected to the server host. UBI does not host any game servers.

The netcode in Vegas 2 is pretty bad, but you are right, the host computer and it's internet connection is the main issue!
Players host on low end systems that can't run the game, let alone handle the extra load of multiplayer.
And many host on slow internet connections.
But, that said, even high end systems with fast internet can't host without some lag due to Ubisoft's poor netcode!
(Especially T-Hunt)

Omigod, don't even get me started on T-Hunt. It was so bad trying to get online that I moved to Hamachi (version 1.01 PC, could never connect online to Ubisoft, hence Hamachi use) that even then, I was still getting a RIDICULOUS amount of lag. And the sad thing is... I even tried Hamachi with the guy living across the street from me. We both had the same ISP, played in the morning so there wouldn't be much net traffic (we later tried afternoon/night to rule out time variable, it was still laggy) and there was still this ALMOST ONE FULL SECOND of lag before doing ANYTHING.

The trouble with hamachi is you connect to an external hamachi server and all your connections go through that... If your ping to the server is low that's not a problem, but if the ping is high - well, you know...
Try setting up a direct connection to your neighbours IP (like creating a connection to your work place) and see if that's any better?
